In Australia we have a thing called ‘fiduciary duty’ - plotting like MHJ is a breach of that duty to shareholders. It would be a loss of confidence in the management of Ador. They may not be able to send her to prison, but it should be enough to remove her. I don’t know what the corporation law is like in Korea, but it would be where you go first. All this other drama is just noise. Rumours of embezzlement is promising in making sure she gets some punishment. Conspiracy to commit murder - that gets you arrested. the "adults" in the room really took advantage of the girls. so dishonest. HYBE had to bring the legal case against MHJ. Her plan is to ruin Hybe and BTS. She won’t leave because she has not taken then down. I think she is working with/for other big music companies, to destroy Hybe and BTS, thus taking out the major competitors. Remember, she came from SM.

I was wondering the same thing about what the penalty for what she's done should be. I was watching KOREA NOW and a lawyer said that the penalty for corporate stealing is pretty severe. But I think that since she didn't actually succeed, she'd likely not suffer those severe penalties if she's found guilty. But that could explain why she panicked and called that crazy press conference where instead of refuting the accusations, she aired her grievances about HYBE and Bang Si-Hyuk and made a bunch of allegations to smear HYBE. She didn't have a defense but she had some mud to sling. I've been trying to find some grace for her because it's a lot for an individual to go against a powerful company. But, she just seems to be controlling and toxic.

Its kind of shocking that the court can judge whether or not MHJ is a competent CEO. That judgement should be made by the majority shareholders as they have the most to lose. The CEO reports to shareholders , and so is accountable to the shareholders. If shareholders judge her performance as poor , then they should be able to replace her.

I was just commenting on this. If ADOR is owned by HYBE as a private label, then the firing of MHJ should be up to the Board of Directors at HYBE. They are the people along with the CEO of HYBE who report to shareholders. It should be easy enough for the HYBE to call a Board Meeting to fire MHJ. With all the stock volatility that MHJ has brought to the company, I’m sure shareholders would love to have her fired once they see the facts. And if MHJ won’t give up her shares in ADOR, then I’d let the label tank, and New Jeans if need be. Or move them to another label. Ultimately, New Jeans belongs to HYBE. And MHJ can’t stop ADOR from having at least 1 board meeting every year for governance purposes. HYBE can roll over any objections at that one meeting with their 80% majority ownership.

As an American, I’m unsure of how the law works in SK, but I’m surprised that HYBE wasn’t able to get the judges to compel MJH to return the company’s laptop as part of the evidence to submit. And in terms of MHJ’s mismanagement, between the plagiarism of the Shakatak song, which does violate international copyright laws, and the double dipping of the stylist, that seems to be just the top of her mismanagement. Lastly, in the US, once a person takes their idea, or plan in this case, and involves other employees, and actions are taken, that’s a conspiracy, which is sufficient for firing for cause. And since executives are supposed to held to a higher standard, I would think this would be enough for HYBE to fire her, at a HYBE board meeting - as ADOR is one of their subsidiaries. Don’t all the labels CEOs report to the HYBE Board? Who knows what the bylaws of ADOR are, but I would think that the HYBE representative could call for a board meeting with the 80% shares to make a quorum. And did MHJ ever pay back Bang PD for the loan to buy the shares of ADOR? Time to call that loan for full payment. Must be more than 1 way to skin this cat. Sorry to ramble, just so ticked off. Thanks for updating us on the happening of this saga.

The assembly of shareholders Ador (four shareholders) has been set for May 31 and has MHJ's dismissal on the agenda. The assembly should have been convened by the CEO (MHJ), who refused, so Hybe had to turn to a court and things went for long. The four shareholders are: Hybe (80%), MHJ (18%), the deputy CEO (1%), the general manager (1%). However, Mhj turned to the court to ask that Hybe is prevented from exercising its right to vote. Each of the five NewJeans presented a petition to support MHJ's request.

The majority shareholder can ask for the convening of the extraordinary shareholders' meeting, but it cannot convene it itself, it is the CEO that must do it.

@@bqanto Thank you for educating me on how things work at ADOR, I do appreciate it. Question for you, the Board must hold an annual board meeting - is that only convened by the CEO as well? Not that HYBE wants to wait, but if the annual board meeting doesn’t require the CEO to convene the meeting, then HYBE can just cut MJH from accessing anything related to HYBE and ADOR, and wait until the annual board meeting. I’m not sure how a court can stop the majority owner of a privately held label from exercising its rights to hire and fire. It is something that must be in South Korean law.

@@the50thJackieO MHJ has already been suspended for some time. On April 22, Hybe released a statement that they had initiated an audit and that MHJ had been suspended. She probably hasn't set foot in Ador offices since then. I don't know when the ordinary shareholders' meeting should be held, in any case the one for May 31st has already been set. Personally, I find it inconceivable that a court would agree to consider MHJ's request to exclude the majority shareholder from voting. I don't know if any Western judge would have accepted it. However, I am not even American but Italian, so I am not sure if in a system that follows Common Law it is acceptable or even mandatory to consider any request. In Italy judges rely exclusively on codes issued by Parliament.

The court cannot take away Hybe's right to fire Min HeeJin, I think the reasons for firing Min HeeJin are more than enough, they have shown that Min HeeJin is not capable of I see Ador, regarding the police investigation I have the suspicion that Hybe actually has more compelling evidence to fire her and send her to jail, Hybe is playing a game of chess with Min HeeJin, every time she makes a move to influence public opinion, Hybe does exactly the same, Hybe revealing those messages of Min HeeJin talking bad about New Jeans and its employees is just a move to heat up public opinion, they are playing the same game she started.

Like any bureaucracy, the government’s gotta look like they are doing something, but really they don’t want to do anything. If they did want to do something, they would tighten up laws regarding conspiracy to defraud, and making it so judges weren’t so beholden to public opinion, but to the rule of law. Plus copyrighting dance moves or choreography is a minefield. Start this and you’ll have Michael Jackson’s estate suing for monies, choreographers from around the world will be up in arms about copyrighting their dance moves.

I seriously think new jeans parents should seriously grow up and take their daughters away very far away from Min Hee-jin what she’s doing to these girls will traumatize them for life even if they haven’t realized it yet… it’s their job to have more sense

I'm so curious about whether or not she will get charged with plotting a pre-meditated takeover!!! If HYBE hadn't done anything then her plan would've worked, and then it would have been too late for HYBE, so they had to stop her. MHJ is literally grasping at straws now. She keeps throwing out any irrelevant story she can come up with trying to deflect. It has already been proven that she has copied multiple sources - first it was the choreography dance, now it's the entire group concept. You would think that she would stay quiet about 'copying' to not put light on her own mess. This is the age of the Internet, after all. Its way too easy to find out. Even if she is corporately capable which I don't think, she has proven she is not mentally capable enough to be put in charge of children.

The origin and beauty of KPOP is that it took many years to create great groups. If HYBE's strategy is to train idols in a short period of time and have them debut in large numbers, the value of KPOP will decrease, leading to overlapping concepts and shortening the lifespan of idols. 😭

Just MHJ and take your New Jeans with you if that’s what you and supposedly their parents want. Don’t let the door hit you in your way out.

The thing that sucks is that it looks like the members of New jeans will not want to continue as idols if mhj isn't involved. And it looks like she will get fired or something close to it.

Intent. That is what you're missing here. Meeting with investors, making "plans", etc. You have to include intent. Did she "intend" to carry out the plans. It seems clear these plans were made with intent. I doubt Hybe will lose this hearing.

Hybe should stay focussed on one goal: thats to make sure they vote. From there, they should look at the contracts of njs. The parents of these girls should have stayed away from this whole saga by giving mhj if they love her so much. Mhj opened the can of plagiarism, by projecting. She decided to plagiarise foreign artists not realising that its the era of the Internet. Maybe Mhj left sm on the pretext of burnout, but she had set her goals: to bring hybe down. I am so glad, she moved away from being a brand director to CEO, as the former would have made her more close to members. With the evidence that Hybe has, in any country; she should have been suspended till when the court decides. Whether its a joke or not lets say those plans were about hijacking a plane, would she still be a pilot or air hostess? If that plot was about stealing someone's partner, would you still be friends with such a person

Another excellent report. The only thing missing is that apparently there is now a DJ whose (1996?) remix may have also been plagiarized by New Jeans. This was reported in sm over the weekend, but the DJ hasn't publicly responded to this latest issue discovered by Internet sleuths. HYBE is correct to methodically walk thru the steps to 1) fire MHJ, 2) take control of Ador, 3) re-stabilize HYBE's operations and market performance, 4) determine what to do about New Jeans, 5) have MHJ criminally charged, and 6) prepare the next steps in a civil case against her for making HYBE lose over 200 million won in the stock market. HYBE can't get any of this wrong or else MHJ will have a window back in to do more damage. HYBE has to keep the bulk of their evidence secret for this to get resolved over the long haul. We would all do the same if we were in HYBE's shoes. I read also over the weekend that the New Jeans girls have been on IG asking fans to continue to "love" them. I hope this is just a rumor because these girls have been thru enough. They may not even have a mv drop on the 24th for fear it's another plagiarized piece of work led by MHJ. I feel bad for the New Jeans because they didn't know they entangled themselves with a person who simply used them. This is such a tragic story for everyone involved with MHJ.

Everyone at ADOR put innocent people jobs and careers at risk all because they are attached to a narcissistic and lying woman. They are not the innocent ones.

I hope someone will tell Jeans of NJ plagiarism,sure they will not let this go,its money involved.

I feel so bad for Illit members. Bunnies and YG stans are straight up creating new accounts for bu!!ying them. MHJ needs to be locked up.

That is why that hiatus is so needed, they need time to overcome this, let the water become still and for the girls to touch ground, have a taste of reality and go to teraphy so in a couple of years they can stand by their own in the industry, BP had 2 years hiatus already, with Hybe help thwy can make it if they shown progress.

I agree with the CEO of Ador about them to need to keep humble and if even the CEO is thinking they have lost their ground then there must be something on it. No, they complained because the owner of their company did not greet them as they wanted, they are demanded to keep their status after alligned with their CEO in a moment they should keep a neutral possition. They have told us loud and clear here, they felt entitled to have keep reciving privilegies just because, they do not deserve any fancy collaborations, they need to go to hiatus in order to growth out of their conditioning and after climb their way out or the little storm their CEO trow them. They belong to Hybe, they are not going to go to the basement, they will still have a better start than 90% of the groups there, they need to win their pass to the top againg in order to show to their company they are trusted enough to invest money on them and they are not going to run to that woman at first chance they have even before their legal contract have ended.

@@PeaceLoveDolls Interesting... Some of my comments are being erased and I know for a fact I am not using "controversial language" but maybe my way of thinking seems to much crude for some. Ok. Here is my way of think. The members needs to be taken out of their actual enviroment in order to recalibrate their sense of reality, something important in teraphy, and in this case they have been probably being conditionated for a while probably a comeback is not the best idea because they are being trown to this twisted scenary they know. Ador had a plan to difamate Hybe and BTS, it seems they are going trought it. The last thing I would consider is to use a group that is under huge scrutiny and controversial to collaborate with my most valuable artist at the moment my company image is being so damaged and even more specially after the fans of the first group started a mocking campaing againts the group of such artist. No, you would not have BTS to be associated with NJ at this moment, once the wather has become still and the girls are emotionally and in a better mind frame then maybe they can work together. Right now you will only damage BTS reputation and it would be to much for many that after Ador tried so hard to drag every single Hybe group NJ use BTS to clean their image. I doubt ARMY likes that.

This could be proven by the purchase of weapons, the solicitation of a hitman, surveillance of the intended victim, etc. In the case of MHJ, perhaps the alleged solicitation of potential investors, making inquiries of a financial analyst into how HYBE stocks could be tanked, etc. would suffice?

Nothing...its a status that differentiate a small corporation to a bigger one, instead of having 1b stock in the market in Korea they now have 5b which an increase of income and stocks in the market place, hybe will not fall down like kpoppies r praying for, the market will crash if a big conglomerate is in trouble, its a domino effect,hybe going down will make sm/yg and jyp going down too and many small companies disappear....kpoppers r too stupid to understand what it means to take down a big conglomerate like hybe, the government will keep an eye on them so that their investors r protected and will avoid any crash. A conglomerate is basically a big corporation that is open to intl markets like Samsung is or hyundai.

According to K-Pop Shock, the government designates a company as a conglomerate once its total assets pass 3.5B. On the plus side, the credit rating rises and the company can raise funds much more easily. The brand power strengthens. It's easier to diversify- they're in a better position to grab new opportunities. On the downside, they have to disclose a lot more information, particularly to investors. It's a lot more bureaucratic, which can slow things down and be less efficient. And it's in conglomerates- usually Chaebols- that you get the 'Imperialist CEO' attitude. That probably won't happen with HYBE, though.

Finally, their new status promotes them as a fixture within the Korean economy, making it difficult for the courts to rule against them if that ruling will result in extreme financial loss. Huge HYBE losses=bad for the Korean economy.

you're right in that there are two separate issues here: 1. whether mhj's actions are against laws, which is to be determined in the courts, and 2. whether hybe has done anything that would strip their rights as majority shareholders to replace the management team (which is the injuction mhj is seeking). these are not mutually exclusive to each other. it may be the case that mhj didn't do anything against the law AND hybe didn't do anything so egregious to mhj that would cause the courts to restrict their rights as majority shareholder. so it may be possible that mhj doesn't incur any criminal or civil liabilities but still be fired by hybe. in that case, mhj may vest in her stock options but since I don't believe ador is a publicly traded company, it may be that her shares are not worth much at all. another separate issue even if mhj doesn't incur any criminal liabilities, it may be so that her performance as CEO, to include the potential plagiarism clams re: mexican jeans may be reviewed in terms of whether or not she has vested in the stock options.

tbh, at this point they need to start again from scratch and do an image overhaul. If they stay at Hybe, change their name, their concept, etc because if they stay as is there will always be the lingering doubt if what you see is original or a copy of an as of yet not identified earlier group.

What does it say when all this place risk makes me think of the movie "Bring it On." With the crazy way MHJ thinks, I wouldn't doubt she saw the movie and went "Oh, where is a group far enough away that I can copy and no one will realize it!"

So, let me understand: the Mexican group Jeans will sue Ador for plagiarism, which will have to compensate it with the money of Ador, that is, with the money of Hybe, that is, with BTS's money, that is, with our money? Looks to me like New Jeans is becoming more and more of a Frankenstein, nothing is original. It is looking so bad for them now.
