"gave me beauty charm and grace then put wrinkles in my face....I got shoes (shorts) as old as you." He has planned a career on violin. During the 1930s depression there was little to no opportunities on violin so he quickly switched to double bass. A master musician and most kind. A Mensch!

A very nice gem Don Wolff, thank you. I'm fan of Milt Hinton, I love his sound, his swing, the brightness of his music, simple but essential.

Milt took tens of thousands of photographs during his decades in the music business. His photographic collection alone is an achievement unto itself. I saw one of his solo photo exhibitions many years ago.

Really nice. Through the years I've felt that Milt Hinton's bass notes seem to be bigger, fatter, more fully formed. That's the way I hear it.

3 nice guys and great musicians. Saw them perform way back in the 1980's in Mineola, L.I. sponsored by IAJ - The International Art of Jazz. And again saw Milt playing alongside Jane Jarvis (piano) at a Library performance in Northport, L.I. With Milt performing his own composition of Old Man Time on both occasions. Thanks for posting.
