Hi, I am the original owner of this video, we are from Taiwan. This video did not get my permition before posting on your channel. Also there should be a detail explaination of this video that was not posted, it is taking it out of context and can give wrong message to the public. We care for the Tango community immensely, and we are probably the most careful in the world that's why our life remains relatively normal here in Taiwan. If you would like to post this video, please post the full video info and explaination, otherwise, I would appreciate you to delete this from your channel so that it won't send out the wrong message to the public. Thank you, best wishe. Info of this video: Date: Mar. 4th, 2020 City: Taipei, Taiwan Event type: practica I've come to notice this video was broadly shared mostly among European Tango communities, and it raised a lot of discussion. I feel that some clarifications need to be made. The original purpose of this video was just to share within local community here in Taiwan, with people who know the situation, NOT to promote mask is the ultimate solution, just mask is for sure NOT ENOUGH. Here in Taiwan we have also a package of policies for the local Milonga/practica to cope with the epidemic, and we have been doing so since beginning of Feb.: 1. People who have been travelled internationally within 14days are not allowed to attend the events. 2. People who have shown any respiratory symptoms within a week are not allowed to enter the event. 3. People who have been in contact with the confirmed or possible infected patients need to follow government policy to stay home quarantine and are not allowed to enter the event. 4. Body temperature check and hand sanitize at door. 5. There is a sink by the dance floor for people to wash their hands frequently in between tandas. 6. Most people in Taiwan now carry our own hand sanitizer and use frequently throughout the Milonga (and entire day actually). 7. And we don't keep the Milonga/practica open every week. We follow the daily epidemic report closely, whenever there are new cases announced that could have potential local infection risk, we close the Milonga until the concern is cleared. Above policies are not just in Tango, actually people of entire country pretty much have been doing the same self control in daily life since end of Jan.. Taiwan Tango community was actually the very first in the world to close all Milonga and cancel marathons since end of Jan., even when there were only 10 infected cases. We waited until mid Feb. when we knew our government got the virus control stabilized and we knew better what we are dealing with then the organizers started to re-open the Milonga and practica cautiously, but they are still prepared to close anytime if the number start to climb. Mask and the above policies we do work in Taiwan, also because our infected number has been controlled relatively low and there is no local infection (most of the infected people came back from abroad), and the awareness and epidemic prevention system has been established and executed strictly within entire country. But we would NOT recommend the same is enough to any other countries that are in worse situation than us. I hope above gives better info about the video. All the best to all, stay safe and healthy.

I know who the organizers are, what milonga it is and in what city and country. That particular country has had very low numbers of cases, thank goodness for that. Taking temperatures, having sanitizers and making dancers wear masks are good things, but the virus is also asymtomatic, so even if there is no symptoms (high temp, coughing, trouble breathing, flu symtoms, etc), dancers could still have the virus. As most of the world's countries are struggling mightily, this isn't the most responsible message to send out. Although, I don't believe that was the organizer's intention. I hear they are good and decent tango people. But there's a bigger picture here and the world is far from over this Corona virus. This is risky to dance. Too risky for me.

Last Tango in Paris-- the Russian Roulette Version. A bad idea. Very really bad idea. At not even 1 ft apart, prolonged breathing in each other's face is a Grade A way of transmitting droplets & aerosols. Dry masks like that only block about 30% ... cloth ones even less; damp ones even less. Follow to see how many infections pop up in 14 days. The Tango being a social dance, changing partners every 15 minutes... is it unrealistic to predict an 80% or higher infection rate?
