Millionaire Forced to Clean Houses After Falling Victim to Bernie Madoff

Ten years ago this month, New York investor Bernard Madoff was arrested and accused of masterminding a Ponzi scheme which saw him take millions of dollars from wealthy clients. One of his clients, Maureen Ebel, invested more than $5 million with him and lost her entire life savings. Ebel, who was used to living a comfortable life with homes in Florida and Pennsylvania, turned to cleaning houses to keep her head above water. #InsideEdition

If she were to spend on her savings and not invest they would slowly lower year hy year that it is possible that when she is older she will not have enough to live on or to pay for funeral/hospital expenses. Investing in businesses is one way to earn money so you have extra for later on. It is all about planning for the future. If we end up having another recession like in 2008, it is a good idea to have extra to fall back on.
