MILLION DOLLAR BABY (2004) TWIN BROTHERS FIRST TIME WATCHING MOVIE REACTION!

Ойын-сауық

Million Dollar Baby threw us a curveball, what starts off as a fantastic underdog story takes a massive sink into such emotionally and tragic story; Clint Eastwood makes good movies.

I broke my neck when I was 18 years old wrestling. I’ve been in a wheelchair ever since. I’ve seen this movie once. I’ve never had the courage to watch it again,so I decided to watch your reaction. I could not help but cry, but I also wanted to thank you. Mo chuisle is pronounced ma hushia. In the movie AND in Gaelic on some level it means my darling. BUT its LITERAL translation is MY PULSE ok? THIS translation is actually from from a longer phrase...A chuisle mo chroI. THAT translation is Pulse OF my heart. I was not just engaged to somebody whose family was Irish decade ago. But my first husband who had passed on~his grandmother was a first generation Irish immigrant here in the US. Sooo...while he was alive I DID hear this a lot in reference to her grandsons. I was also honored enough to have her say it to me. She started calling ME that once WE started dating in our teenage years because she welcomed me right into their family even though I wasn't an Irish girl. When it came to his mother, I was introduced to her from Day One as THIS IS Mom and Connie. Constance was her husbands name so that was his nickname. I ALWAYS called her MOM up until her dying day just a few years ago, even though me and my first husband had eventuality divorced. I was lucky enough to "keep the family" as the expression goes. I had two brothers from that family, and a few years ago one passed on. Out of MY Irish family~it is only me and my younger brother Brian left now. He was the youngest in the family as I am in my family. HE stated dating his wife AS his highschool gf~his first crush. They've been married OVER 30 years now and I've got a niece and nephew AND a grand niece from my nephew. Monica his wife ALSO got the honor from his grandmother to be called this expression. Believe me IF someone who is Irish... especially an older Irish relative says this to you? It REALLY means something culturally because for them it's not something that's said flippantly. Rest in Peace Bobby #NYGenXBIKERLady

I love it when the plot of films subverts sub-genres. We're all sitting there watching this film thinking we're watching a Rocky story, expecting that Maggie's going to end up champion of the world (or at least go the distance). Then the stool incident occurs and we realise this is nothing like Rocky. It becomes a heavy drama that we may not have even considered watching had we known beforehand exactly what kind of film it would be. By then though, we're too invested to walk out.

Get ready MY boys! AS a former boxer in the underground circuit on Long Island and NYC as a teenager for a short time as a super welterweight...this IS an absolutely amazing and perfectly accurate. For the record movie, her opponent IS a real boxer AND a multiple international belt champion Lucia Rijker aka The Blue Bear AND she is who trained her for the role. The Blue Bear ALSO trained Randy Rouser to box, the Blue Bear is Dutch and Gen X like me, she's both 1967. Also she sustained injuries in this production AND like a real fighter with our broken bones~Hillary Swank pushed through them. The Blue Bear is ranked number 4, her record is 17-0 in boxing and 34-0 in kickboxing. The 2024 Silver Gloves Champ Female Intermediate (13-14 yrs) belongs to a 13 year old girl from MY tribe. She won under what's known as a RSC, Referee Stops Contest. She just won her first 3 boxing matches in Toledo Ohio at the 2023 Women’s National Boxing Tournament where she is now the USA Boxing number one ranked boxer in the Heavyweight division in the United States. KEEP YOUR EYES OUT FOR HER~OUR GIRLS NAME IS BETH SMOKE AND YEAH SHE BRINGS IT! IF this is what she's bringing at age 13, trust me I DO believe she'll be at The Blue Bears level by her 20's cuz Beth started fighting when she was around 8 yrs old. I am from the Bear Clan and she is from the Wolf Clan. 🪶✊🗽💜🦅 #Taino #Mohawk #NYGenXBIKERLady

I saw this movie when it came out. I was only nine, and didn't always understand what was going on or why characters did this or that, but I still loved it. Now, twenty years later, I love it even more. Clint Eastwood's character went from wanting nothing to do with Maggie to caring for her to selfishly keeping her alive even though she wants her suffering to end to finally, finally letting her go. Maggie's arc is heartbreaking, too. The scene where she realizes that her toxic family only sees her as a cash cow broke me even when I was a kid. Truly a wonderful film, and I'm glad you guys reviewed it.

Hilary Swank was in a movie with Tommy Lee Jones called The Homesman (2014). It's a western historical drama set in the 1850s Midwest and directed by Tommy Lee Jones, about three women who have been driven mad by pioneer life are to be transported across the country by covered wagon by the pious, independent-minded Mary Bee Cuddy (Hilary Swank), who in turn employs low-life drifter George Briggs (Tommy Lee Jones) to assist her. It's a good one.

Helluva film with a stacked cast - if you're not crying in the last act you must have no soul and I don't want to know you.

I always wonder with movies like this, how much did Hilary Swank learn. I’m no expert fighter but she looks like she could look after herself. Interesting how much the movie training would transition to real life.
