  • @cindys9491

    @cindys9491

    Жыл бұрын

    @@christopherdale5243 they usually tell us in the US not to put pressure bandages on rattlesnake bites bc it will concentrate the cytotoxic/flesh-destroying venom. Australian snakes have such strongly neurotoxic venom that pressure bandages are required to stop the spread before getting to the hospital.

    We’ve done medical evals. Where we have seen patients not be as bad when they’ve ran out of the woods on rattle snakes. We are thinking that maybe it’s diluting the venom and spreading it around The body out of limbs. But I wouldn’t try it on extreme neuro toxic venom or the top tier venoms. This was done on diamond backs and mostly rattle snake varieties. Which goes against what I was originally taught. But it’s like clock work. Everybody that has to travel on foot some distance to get help they don’t seem to have the severe symptoms like the stationary people. We are still looking at it and will in years to come.

    They’re both deadly snakes but the inland taipan is the most venomous. I’d give the deadliest title to the mamba because it lives in closer proximity to people thus more people get bit by mambas that along with their potent venom, aggressive nature and being probably the fastest snake on land to me makes them more deadly. The inland taipan inhabits areas not really inhabited by people.

    Watching Mike Perry at South African Anti Venom plant is so interesting,I watch every video I see posted,and of here when I see them,nice and entertaining. I know repetition creates retention,but wish Zack would slow down,it is one little awkward moment of ''Awry'' ,when that one mis-step can happen..Like Mr Irwin,One Million Victories,but that one defeat is all that will be remembered.(Rip salute)........Slipping past beaker ,or snake reverse necks,or bites through bottom mouth or finger tangled moving so quickly.Mike Perry uses fixed beaker,and I'm guessing that is reason as he is missing a digit..Your necking SOP seemed safer than his.Bet if you both combined methods,could create safest SOP on earth for Harvesting.(Just observation from the cheap seats)lol. The floating beaker method probably great for the species that lock on to pump venom,like King Brown,Gaboon,Cobra's,to prevent broken fangs..Must be the reasoning..No expert here,just interested am I...Great Demo..

    Yeah getting bit by a s ven is not fun. Copped a tag from an eastern brown. It felt like one of my neohjnouts had shot me with a pellet gun, Looked up and about then down and saw mr hiss hiss. Bloody long lawn!. Called the ambos rright away and bandaged my leg up. Then (I know, stupid move) went out back and scruffed the snake, got him right behind the jaw. Please don't do this - it was a dumb move, you could get bitten again. I stuffed him into a pillow slip and tied a knot in the top. One eastern brown bagged and ready!. He got released a few days later. I needed 14 ampoules of antivenom!!

    Would have been nice to show more of the snake, to explain to visitors of our country, eg head shapes etc to quickly identify venomous and non-venomous. And the narrative , informative, but mate, come up for air , geezzzz

    Politely, I prefer just hearing ZAC explain what he's doing (in between the intense concentration required) ... were it me? Tim talking would distract me. (Sorry Tim, I know you're doing a great job ... and perhaps as an after dub, but during ..? Probably doesn't help). Huge appreciation to this organization.
