The Canadian slang that Simon is talking about is only used in the Toronto area. It’s a mixture of British and Jamaican slang and way of talking.

I’m from Ottawa too and the slang Simon was using is SO common here. That’s not English slang that is defo Jamaican slang.

It's all Jamaican slang. Places like London and Toronto both have a large population of Jamaican people that brought the slang with them when they moved there

@@kieranosullivan02 Yeah it is. I live in London but my parents are Jamaican and I have a lot of family in Toronto too. The slang is mostly the same

Toronto uses the same slang as us as it all originates from Caribbean slang. "mandem, wagwan, gyal" etc, and Toronto has a large population of Caribbean people who brought the slang over, the same as in London. So it's not necessarily they're using our slang, just we both use West Indian slang.

The English slang that Simon’s talking about is West Indian/Caribbean slang. Large West Indian community in Canada similar to in the UK.

Its not UK slang though its Caribbean Slang that London adopted because of the amount of immigrants there. So I would imagine Toronto has the same thing as its also a multicultural city. Not one bit of slang Simon said is actually originated in the uk
