The black people I was raised with and around allowed me to say it as well when I was growing up and they were fine with it because they knew me, then I joined the military and met people from different areas who checked me on saying it. At this point in my life, I’m married to a black woman, and After growing up and thinking about the situation I feel out of respect even if you are given a “pass” you shouldn’t WANT to say it. It’s a word created out of evil by our ancestors and I’m glad to say I’ve taken it out of my vocabulary.

He was smiling throughout the whole interview. After watching him for awhile I realised he’s always been interested in gang culture from his old vlogs to his interviews. Meeting a white guy from that lifestyle is a deeper lense into the LA street culture for him. Milk being a white guy, you can see how Adam can sort of relate to him somehow and make sense of the gang culture and his place within that culture. Obviously Adam isn’t in a gang but he is in the rap culture which is predominantly black and Milk is also the minority in the gang stuff so it’s parallel. Cool to see someone invested doing these interviews though. It would of been trash if it was one of these random LA youtubers doing the interview

I understand what he’s saying. Because he was raised with black people in the hood, like most black people in the hood, the word just became a part of his vocab because it was used around him and towards him. And not in racist fashion either but in the way that we black people use it. So he never means anything racist by it when he says it. @@thraxpaxx210 I agree. Respect is much more complicated than just words. In UK we often bond over our differences by joking about them. Humour plays a big role over here, in that way. You earn respect by being able to "take a joke". But that's more in working class communities. Middle class people, of all races, tend to me much more sensitive and precious about language.
