Military Transition: How Much Are You Worth?

When you head into post military job interviews and salary negotiations, it is important to "Know What You Are Worth". The civilian sector looks at your value differently than the military and the types of work you do in the civilian sector is fundamentally different than military service.

Pursue purpose and create value. Everything else will tend to fall into place. Money is a abstract representation of value. It is not of intrinsic value itself. If you are creating value and serving good purposes... ...either the money will follow or the money isn’t necessary, needed or required... ... more money is usually nice to have and often useful. But some of the most miserable people in the world have more money than they know what to do with, more than they can properly manage, more than they will ever spend. Focus on purpose and you have worth, value, honor and purpose. You have things that can not be purchased by money. Often that’s the kind of freedom that twenty years of service provides a opportunity to achieve. Which then lends itself to wealth development if you choose a pathway leading to such a result.

I’m worth a lot as a retired Marine But I’m lucky to get a $22.- job doing security because the last job I had, I was discriminated against The statement went “he talked of the military, we believe he joined the military to kill people, people are scared”…… Or He’s a scary army guy that has PTSD that’s going to come in here and kill us all Welcome to trying to work for the State of Nevada. I have done 2,127 interviews and have 2,127 rejection letters. Reno sucks..!! Any help out there?? I’m tired of security…..
