When you transform your military into a social experiment, lose focus on war-fighting readiness and lethality as a result, new recruits are not going to submit themselves to that environment.

When I joined in 2016 I got a EO (Equal Opportunity) violation for calling another man who was insulting me a “little bitch”. Drill sergeant said it was an EO violation because it could be offensive to women.

Homogenous standards matter. Tattoos may not seem big to you but they are a distraction and harm cohesion. That's why grooming standards are strict. You can't have a bunch of hippies if you want the most elite force.

@@CB-ke7eq Tattoos may be seen differently but human psycholgy does not change. These decisions and choices are made with millions of dollars of research behind them. Confession: I used to have a tattoo and I regretted it and had it removed. I would understand if I were rejected and I agree with the grooming standards. Imagine the military in your mind. You will not imagine tattoos. Good luck to you. If you enjoy your tattoo, good for you. No judgement. But, important to understand psychology and standards. Your opinion changes on many topics as you grow older because you gain more wisdom.

I came from broke ass family and joined military to get away from my life. Now 20 years later it led to me making over 150k a year with post 6 year military career. So all these comments saying how they stayed away, sorry to hear. Sucks to be you. I saw 86 countries and have memories of a lifetime. Don't regret it at all and I am living a very stable life as a result.

The Army is meeting the goal by reducing their goal by 10k this year vs. last year. From 65k to 55k.

Wars a business and now the enemies of the U.S are probably pissed off because the U.S has moved in this way for a long time. People have started to really acknowledge this and that is why you don’t have as much support. This has never been about morality. It has always been economic. And the commercials are corny.

If it has been since 2013 , it’s because there is no National draft so to close the War On Terror in Afghanistan make individuals just chose not to enlist.

We need good men and women in the military. I respect my country, and those who serve responsibly.

As someone in the military for 13 years. I don't want the draft. I don't want to put my life and trust into someone who is forced into the military, let alone those who don't value or respect the military. Want to increase recruitment? Give current servicemembers a future (pay that can actually pay for a house/family). Young Generation listens to veterans with the truth, not recruiters with the lies.

We are in the same boat. My sons will NOT be joining either. Our leadership has failed us and our current service members.

The shortages are probably because the younger generations can clearly see how veterans are treated when they return home. By government and society. You're appreciated when you wear the uniform, and once you take it off, you're spit on. Not to mention that the majority of vets deal with PTSD, the benefits and "honor" of serving aren't worth it anymore to most people. The difference is that now they have access to the information, as opposed to the recruiters selling a dream and breaking the rules just to meet their recruiting quotas.

Can these people define what "woke" actually means they are misusing the term.

People being too fat and lazy has a lot to do with it. 🤷‍♀️

I didn’t join for 1 reason , pay and benefits wasn’t that great . I went to college instead and got a job in my field . Offer more pay and benefits to young people then I bet things will change.

We need to restore the rite of passage for men. Masculinity absolutely respects taking things into its own hands, but a social species raises its boys into men alongside this ownership. That's not an inherently triggering concept, that's nature. Carve the path for individual ownership to lead families, lead tribes, certainly having the societal integrity to not blame one for not magically learning it all alone as a primary strategy. I think as a nation that truly embraces nationhood, there's greater collaborative efforts to build train next generations to be as strong, mentally and physically, as possible. Can't be done with the apathy and nihilism - a greater vision of a nation has to be revitalized to make it worth fighting for. A deeper inspirational structure to revitalize personal structures. Whatever exhausts and distracts that... not in our interests...and not contributing to a nation, but perhaps exploiting it.

Me too. I turned 18 just after Vietnam, and I had family talk me out of enlisting. Not that it was a hard sale when I was 18. But, I really regret that they encouraged me not to join rather than encourage me to join. Although, I still couldn't encourage anyone to join Biden's DEI military.

We actually had some 4-Star Generals back in the late 90's (wont name names) warn us about going woke and they basically got shamed into retirement. I say, it's time to bring them back as consultants at the very least.

As a 3rd generation combat vet myself, I wouldn't serve in this garbage woke watered down military no matter what. And I tell anyone considering the same thing.

Why would anyone report on things like this. I mean it's no doubt that every country that has any intelligence at all knows this already but We don't need to just say look we don't have nobody to fight please come and take our country over.

We are funding a resource war as i speak,Ukraine is very important to the united states,its ww3 being fought as we speak. No resources last forever so somebody has to fight for it.

Instead of sending 100 billion to Ukraine and Israel we could give 200k people 500k salaries. That would get some fine people interested and involved in joint our military.
