🔥 Military helicopter Chinook (D-480 Boeing CH-47F) at ''Rescue Heroes'' Aviodrome (20-08-2022) 💥

The military power helicopter came to the event at Aviodrome and landed at Lelystad Airport (EHLE). The modern aircraft is part of the Defense Helicopter Command (298 Squadron) and is stationed at Gilze-Rijen Air Base. The public was instructed to keep a safe distance due to the massive downwash (wind force 13). This 11-ton helicopter can fly at an altitude of approximately 7 km and achieves a cruising speed of 315 km/h with it''s very strong Honeywell T55-GA-714A turbo engines, making it the fastest aircraft of the Royal Dutch Air Force.

The lovely sound of the Chinook.
My step Dad was a on board mechanic on Chinook and served in The Korean war and Vietnam 2 tours sadly he passed at 42 yrs.

I was a cherry grunt in Nam in late 68. I was assigned to bunker guard duty one night, at LZ SALLY, A Shithook came in for a landing near our bunker. All the other guys ran into the bunker. I stay outside. Well when the Shithook lands it blows up a storm of wind. ( I was told 120MPH). I put my hand on my helmet and held my Matel-16 and bent forward. Yes I had my flak vest on...then rocks the size of golf balls started pelting me...OMG... pain...Next time a Shithook landed, I ran for cover...lol

What I have about D-480. Still looking for photographs! This helicopter is registered with the Koninklijke Luchmacht as D-480 and has an upgraded cockpit configuration. The Royal Netherlands Air Force will receive 20 new CH-47F Chinooks to replace the CH-47D and F helicopters already serving the Netherlands. Boeing will complete new-build CH-47F deliveries to the Netherlands in 2021. Boeing is to temporarily suspend production activities at its Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, facilities - the location of the CH-47s final assembly line - for two weeks after the end of the working day on 3 April, due to measures adopted during the coronavirus pandemic. This helicopter D-480 was delivered on the 28th of July 2020.
