Andrew Mark Krippner, better known as Andy, was born to Kenneth and Pam Krippner in Chickasha, Oklahoma on 4-22-1991. He was taken home to be with his Creator and Heavenly Father on 5-23-2011. Andy and four others were struck with an IED, in the Kunar Provence of Afghanistan. Andy had been in Afghanistan for 6 weeks and recently celebrated his 20th birthday.
Andy lived in Apache, Oklahoma, Fairmont, Oklahoma, Dexter, Missouri and Garland, Texas for the last 13 years. Andy attended and graduated from the June Shelton School, enlisting in the Army during the summer before his senior year.
Andy will be remembered for his faith in Jesus Christ, his great sense of humor, his leadership and approachability.
-Among PFC Krippner's distinctions included promotion to Private First--Class, a Bronze Star and Purple for Heart all were awarded posthumously.
The other soldiers killed in the attack were deeply beloved friends, Staff Sgt. Kristofferson B. Lorenzo, 33, of Chula Vista, Calif.; Pfc. William S. Blevins, 21, of Sardinia, Ohio; and Pvt. Thomas C. Allers of Plainwell, Mich. Another soldier was critically injured and is in stable condition. The five soldiers were assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, based at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.
-All four soldiers were received at Dover AFB with honors.
- PFC Krippner's remains were received May 31, with honors at JNAB Ft. Worth, with police motorcycle escorts and members of the North Texas Patriot Guard Riders.
- He laid in repose at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas, TX.
- Public viewing was held at Concordia Lutheran Church, in Garland, TX, where his father Ken Krippner, is the senior pastor.
- Funeral Services were conducted at the Messiah Lutheran Church, in Plano, TX, with approximately 750 attendees.

Rip Katrina! I still remember the the day my sister Sgt. Katrina Johnson was buried after 2 an a half years of fighting in Iraq. I was 8 when she died 5 years ago. Her last words to me were, "here's one half of my heart, and now it is yours forever" and we put our hands together and made a heart. Her favorite song was "and so it goes". I sang it at the funeral.

Two things that make me cry, #2 soldiers coming home videos,#1 soldiers funeral. As a US Army soldier no matter what branch, Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines and Coast Guard they are like family. Everyone in the military is family. And having a brother or sister's life taken never to see home, kids, family, friends, loved ones, cousins, uncle, aunt, teachers. They never got the chance to tell them how much they loved them. It's the hardest part. I have immense respect for these soldiers.

Everyone in your life told you they were proud of you for joining the military. It was scary, and it was hard, but you pushed forward and didn't give up. You had probably the proudest day of your life graduating basic training. You went across the world to defend our freedom. You died for me, for your brothers and sisters next to you, your family, and your country. There is honor in your death. Rest in peace brother in arms, the rest of us will take it from here. Long live the USA.

Where they defend one nation and one people, we civilians divide ourselves by our petty partisanship. I pray we remember the sacrifice of Pfc.
