Which "genre" ? A genre is a STYLE of music. Miley doesn't break any mold here, staying extremely true to the original. I'm sure she COULD switch it to rock or funk (hip-hop would be a bit tricky) or opera ( being the vocal wizard that she is) , but in this version, she stays true to pop, to Madonna.

Definitely a spiritual experience!

In the past, and being now at age 51, I had been rather indifferent to Miley. It wasn’t till her recent covers where I truly began to appreciate her fully. Not just for the songs she decided to cover, but in the particular song choices themselves. Like Doll Parts, for instance... She stays true and respectful to the originals while still making them her own and I began to see her as a real artist. This remix with Madonna (my ultimate and forever queen) just emphasized Miley’s talent and stage presence. Thank you to whoever did this mix and put the video together. It was a genius move that I didn’t think would work but it does in every way. Beautifully. Great job.

I'm a bit older than you. I like Miley but she doesn't hold a candle to Madonna's version of Like a Prayer on her Blond Ambition World Tour, especially her last show in Nice France. I watched it live on HBO and recorded it on VHS. Pioneer released it on LaserDisc and held (or still do) the rights to it. I have been wanting to buy the DVD and/or BluRay for years. There are DVD's of that concert for sale online but I'm not sure if they are real or not. One of the reasons she rocks covers is that she's been thru shit & came out realizing she Loves to sing. You can hear it in these covers she is now doing. I too have come to appreciate her thru these cover sessions . The last time I consistently enjoyed someone doing covers was Joan Jett. Hmmmm. Does Miley do one of hers...gonna go look!
