While I love this song, & no doubt self love is important , this society has confused “ love” the kind we are all suppose to have “ agape love” and become totally self destructive spreading a lie. I’m sure somewhere in this world this song / lyrics would serve its purpose well with someone that’s in an abusive relationship and very low self esteem, but as you noted for the most part as a society we love ourselves a lot!!! Actually pushing the idea that if we don't love ourselves then no one will is dangerous. People who are mentally ill or have low self esteem typically tend not to love themselves, so saying that no one else will because of their lack of self love is only worsening their condition and putting the blame on them. How much you love yourself and how much others love you aren't the same thing, they can cross over but they're also separate situations. And people could easily love themselves but others might not. Loving someone is to do with their personality and how they treat you and others. I get where you're coming from but what you're saying can be seriously damaging
