    When I watched the Last KM video, I thought "he's on some special Slovenian juice" then I opened this video and it's just "fuck, this guy is a daredevil". Maybe he's doped up, maybe not but none of us can deny his incredible skill on descent

    @@P4P5 Nope, it's not just because he's Slovenian but also because he's on the BV team. sonny colbrelli as a pure sprinter was able to follow all the GC riders on mountainous stages last year. Caruso's success at Giro, etc. And his "zip it up" gesture at the Tour really didn't help

    He pioneered the super tuck pedal technique when he used it to win 2013 u23 worlds, which is now banned. Casual cycling fans think froomey invented it. Now he pioneered the dropper post which will probably also be banned.

    He didn't pioneer the super tuck. People have been playing around with that for 30 years (and probably longer). He may have been the first to use it decisively in a race that mattered.

    I don't think hitting the edge of the road twice were mistakes, he planned it ahead to discourage others to not to descend like him so dropping them was even easier. :D

    According to his post race interview, apparently Mohoric was using a dropper post .. and had a pretty nice draft from the moto a few times You can see where he pops it back up right around 2:57

    So I am not the only one who didn't notice the drop seatpost. He seems pretty comfortable pedaling in the saddle. Did he even use it? (and yes, if you care more about the win than your life, you can descend like that)

    that last left hander hairpin of the Poggio , the one with the square flower pots...can you imagine how badly he could have hurt himself if he 'd had hit them with his pedal. But that's where he won. Chris Froome used to be able to do this also, never making it look dangerous, but it is , very much.

    Waooo bravo Slovenia Mohorič, Roglič, Tratnik, the best in the world in downhill Matej Mohorič. Pogačar once proved that he the best cyclists in the world, attacked five legged, unfortunattely it was to easy and to short a Hill for him, if he did not attack he was left alone he and Roglič is not 100%of his form. Slovenia is the best in the world, I dont see anyone who could beat Slovenians. The boys train more than others. Well done

    I think it depends on the way they discover talents and make them grows in the right way...in Italy we waste tons of young riders !.....in fact, as a cycling nation we are disappearing in the mist.

    He clearly dropped his saddle before the attack. Look at his legs when he passes Pogacar. Parallel upper legs at the top, far from strechted at the bottom. Both not ideal for power transfer.

    I, too, noticed that when Mohoric went away Pogacar was just behind him and didn't follow.....I would have done the same !...they are still a small patrol and they feel they are like a family.

    Nice me says "Master Class" Reality me says "Meh. Guys do this on mountain bikes day in and day out. With trees and rocks and all other manner of obstacle to navigate. And no, I'm not just talking on DH bikes either" Still, it was fun to watch three uber-alpha riders look at each other and go, uh uh, not me pal!

    0:48 is all you need to know how he won the race. Just pause it there. And remember that even a moto at 20 meters is huge for drafting. Let alone one that litterally sucks you out of the curve accelerating.

    It's a part of how he won the race. The other two parts were the dropper post and riding on the edge. Without any of these 3 parts, he would probably get passed before the finish line.

    @@a.kopitar7899 kudos for the dropper post innovation and ofcourse he has to have serious guts to take those lines in the curves. But the motopacing was awful. I actually only looked at it after the race; during the race I was rooting for Mohoric, and I am glad he finally won a monument as he's an entertaining rider. But that motopacing is awful, and it's nothing personal against Mohoric, but just in general, it often decides the momentum in races.

    @@a.kopitar7899 Without the dropper: yes. Without the risk: no. Ofcourse he only got in the moto pacing position by daring to attack. And while I think the moto shouldn't have been there so close, it's ofcourse nearly impossible to grab some footage from the moto with all those curves, if the moto is riding too far in front.

    Mohoric has always been a beast on descents. I have no idea what you're talking about. Even without the dropper post, he would have won this. Balls of steel weigh a lot and gravity pulls them hard downhill.

    Excellent performance by Mohoric, but this video is a mess - blurry AF, tops out at 1080p and stops a few seconds before the finish line. A 14 yo youtuber can produce better quality video than this.

    Mohoric is a great descender, bit I dont believe you can drive away from MVDP and WvA in a descent. The difference is that mohoric would give his fking live for this and i thibk the others not really. This could have ended so badly.

    Have you been to the Poggio? Even driving it with a car is very technical and that motorcycle wasn't really an advantage, I would say actually a disadvantage, on most corners he was faster than a bike. And on such technical descents seeing in front of you is really important. Maybe you just have to give credits to this man and not just whine... I suggest hop on a bike and get the most technical descent in your area and drive it as fast you can, then you'll probably appreciate what he has done today... Or just sit on your couch and pound your chest that you are better than these dudes... I'm sure it's lateral.
