    +Johnny Batz no you wrong. War in Ukraine is between Ukrainians. Nazi rule the country. Part of Ukraine wants to be independent. The USA and NATO allies give Ukraine weapons, money and tools to fight, they are basically sponsors of 3 revolutions in Ukraine. Russia supports prorussian Ukrainians because if Ukraine is gonna be a member of European Union , then join NATO alliance, the USA is gonna built national missile defence very close to Russia . And then it's just a question of time to provocate Russia and start the 4th world war. USA already built NMD in Georgia, Kazakhstan, Baltic countries, Poland , Moldova ...

    Russia and USSR are not and have never been the same things. USSR covered the territory which have reformed to 15 independent countries, Russia being only one among them. All of these states have their own languages and cultures that are very different from Russia. It is completely OK not to know all of this. Coming from the post-Soviet country, I don't know much about the history and geography of the States either. But when someone enlightens me, I listen and remember. So please have a respect for people from those 15 republics and when they tell you they are not and don't want to be called Russian, don't argue with them.

    I think people get confused because The Soviet union consisted of both countries and Ukrainians also speak Russian. But that is also no reason to get them confused because many countries share the same Language. I am not from England because I speak English. It doesn't help that Mila moved shortly before the dissolution of the USSR. People hear her say right before the fall of communism and assume Russia.

  • @ericbrown1101

    @ericbrown1101

    3 жыл бұрын

    The USSR was a Russian state dominated and controlled by Russians. It was the communist government that overthrew the Russian Empire and assumed control over the same territory. There were many different ethnic groups that lived there with different languages and cultures, much like the US, however that doesn't change the fact that it was a Russian entity. So, yes, while modern Russia is simply the former Russian SFSR, viewing the Soviet Union as synonymous with Russia I don't see as particularly problematic. However, calling people from former Soviet republics like Ukraine "Russian" IS foolish and offensive. I think those are 2 very different things.

    I don't think it's hard, rather people don't usually get interested of anything farther their areas, plus, why bother looking up if there's a map on the phone that will tell you that, if needed. Nobody just needs that. Ps: some people don't even bother to remember the road they drove, why do that, it's navigator's job. People be like turning left, right, going sttaight, turning again and then bam, "you reached your destination". 😅

    When I was 10 we move from St. Petersburg to Germany. But I was born in Ukraine like Mila. We had also to go to Moscow, I guess there were the only international flights at that time. Mila also was born in 1983 like me, so I know the struggle at that time XD We came 3 days earlier to Moscow to get our documents done and I what she doesn't say is, that you had to take only 30 kg with you on the flight per person, this 30 kg contains your whole life, because back in the 90s it was impossible to sent stuff internationally. We got 3 of 4 packages from my uncle from Germany before. One of them was already opened and the best stuff, like candy, was gone :( To send stuff from Russia internationally simply didn't work out, to Russia somehow was possible. The first things in Germany that impressed me the most were: How fast cars and even trams were and stores like supermarkets, where you could touch things before you buy them. A whole new world for me!

There are people who keep mixing where she's from up due to historical reason and that in itself makes us confused. Why wouldn't we know Ukraine exists? It's just a joke I don't understand.
