Work so hard...Heavy expectations...Failure...Still cannot give up admiration... These words just hit me straight. I was down and sad, but every time I hear Misaka says "try once more", I gain power from it. To me, To Aru Kagaku no Railgun is a remedy and Misaka Mikoto is God. She saves me from suicide.

なんというか…弱めのキャラが圧倒的な強さを見て、その格の違いを実感するのっていいよね（強い方がいいやつ・善性である場合に限る&弱い方もある程度強い場合）。逆に身の程も知れず、無様に向かってってボコボコにされるのはスカッとするからまたいいよね（身の程を知らずに無様に歯向かってるのは嫌いだが、返り討ちにして圧倒するのがいい）。ex）某学園都市最強の超能力者に歯向かう有象無象共など。

他にもすごい戦闘はあるけど、個人的にはこれを越える『レベル5』の戦闘はない

一期は妹編のための準備運動みたいなもんよね、、 シリアス度が違う

Sorry if you have already been answered I know that this is an old question but it is also quite a prominent one. It is answered in the index light novel quite a few chapters down the line when someone analyses how Touma fights, against Mikoto he holds his hand forward and moves in such a way that his arm acts as a lightning rod drawing the attack to it and neutralizing it.

i think accelerator changes in vectors are active(so he need to keep changing them to fly) and as soon Touma touched him he lost all momentum gained

yeah, he can't be directly attacked by any supernatural means, but his powers don't shield him against indirect attacks. the only time i can remember this happening are when he fights accelerator and accelerator uses girders, rail tracks and a dust explosion instead :P

that moment, when she Scream her lungs out and the OP song starts. pure Epicness

well it may be diferent since Stiyl use magic for his attacks and he keeps powering them(like accelerator changing vectors to fly but losing all momentum as soon has Touma touch him) but the railgun is different since after the intial charge to launch the coin it acts just as a normal railgun so no magic or esper power are involved, the only way he can stop the railgun will be touching Misaka before she fires the railgun

Armando92 I don't know, in Railgun's season 1 Touma protected Mikasa, Uiharu and the little girl from an explosion created by an ability. That is, explosions are normal so he couldn't be able to prevent it... so I think Touma can cancel any phenomenon whose origin is not Natural... I dunno that's just my interpretation of his Power, I can be wrong

Problem is, he'd have to take 100000000 damage before being able to get into close quarters then another 100000 damage to touch it. His weakness has been exposed in novels, and it was so glaringly obvious that he now has to learn from it.

But he also stopped the fast flying Accelerator just by punching him and Touma isn't strong enough to stop that enormously kinetic energy with just one punch so it must have been Imagine Breaker and I think it would be the same with the railgun. But you're right, it would make more sence if his Hand would just get pierced.

Touma, even if he reacts fast enough, cant stop the railgun since after the coin has been launched its just a piece of metal, so he will only end with a hole in his right hand

Well that wouldn't work if Touma could defend himself with his right hand. But maybe a Railgun is quicker than his reflexes.

@colonel24567 Kiyama Harumi, in the previous episode. She made the Anti-Skills look like cannon fodder; but alas, she was not much of a match for Mikoto.

Well atmosphere isn't anything supernatural so he couldn't. But if he just went through Styl's flames like if they were 0 degrees, I don't think some little heat would hurt Touma at all. -w-

yes it can, Touma actually destroyed some magic weapons in the series.(Spoilers) the one i can remember was that light spear that cut things with the reflection of light that was used by that dude with the power to disguise himself with the skin of others

She wants to defeat him, not to kill. Otherwise she would have used coin-railgun against him.

Not only spell . Touma's Imagine Breaker can destroy any kinds of Supernatural powers, since that thing is a lump of AIM (like espers powers) then Touma can destroy.

I think that Touma can not beat it by just a touch. AIM burst is a collection of 10000 persons' emotions and Touma's Imagine Breaker doesn't work on emotions. Well I think so :3.

unless Touma unlocks the true power of Imagine Breaker and gets the negating field all over his body and gets to retroactively negate ALL CREATION

AwesomeStuff the he fights, this thing would have gotten bigger and stronger till it couldnt be contained. And when he makes the change in his power set from "reflect surrounding vectors" to the "redirect vectors" he would be killed on the spot. It takes him about a second to change from one to another and his telecknises form has a reach of about 5meter around him.

But if Touma could touch the heart of that monster, it would be destroyed. However, it's not easy.

mmm i don't know... i thought touma's power was erase magic or expert powers but i doubt it can actually destroy things like that so yeah he could neutralize it but not destroy it
