Important Note: it was over 1 million feet of film shot, not 3 million. That was way off, my bad.

@1977Suspiria Peter Falk and John Cassavetes were good friends off camera. Mr. Falk was good friends with John's wife, Gena Rowlands. They appeared in the TV show Columbo.
I’m pondering a little over your last comment: the need to disengage from toxic relationships. I would add that even though this may be the “healthier” decision, there is a profound, sometimes immeasurable, loss from ditching any important relationship, even one that’s toxic. I think Elaine May showed that here masterfully.
One of the few youtube reviews that actually understands the MAIN theme of this movie.
I have had similar friendships.....they will always hurt, but that's life. I love your comment about how you want sometimes to pick up the phone but then, no, because you know they wouldn't call you.....that's exactly what hurts....you nailed it.
A favorite of mine from when it was first released in the 1970's. I was hired by a research firm to interview people who came out of the movie theater who had just seen it. It was a positive response. Despite that, the film didn't stay around long. Now 40 years later it's having a resurgence. Sanford Meisner, a very famous acting teacher, makes an appearance as the Mob Chieftain.
Good work! It's one of my favorites movie too. Really underapreciated movie.
And yet both of them are still bad people. Great vid I loved this movie
Good mini review and insights. Gracias!
It was not improvised by Cassavetes and Falk. The script is available online. Please don't spew gibberish!
