Havertz was a waste, cause Partey was an issue before and we needed his replacement 3. 2 sitting midfielders is the way we competed last season, Xhaka was just able to make late runs but he sat in deep for that stability and helped the LB position when Zinchenko inverted

Xhaka did not sit deep. If you actually watched the games or even looked at the heat maps, Xhaka was actually our furthest forward midfielder.

Every season for about the last 10 years or so, Arsenal have a month that they hardly pick up any points. It's one of life's mysteries.

1.6m subscribers safe to say over a million are only watching when arsenal lose. The hypocrisy is incredible when they complain about the owners destroying the club.

As an Arsenal fan of over 25 years, I have to say what an Absolute shambles of a performance that is an embrassement to top it off. No hunger, no passion, no energy, no plan to shoot and Fulham walked all over us. Things need to improve asap including major signings in the transfer window.

Don't be surprised if you see 5'9 goalkeepers in future that stand along the defensive line until possession is lost.

@@TokeNygaard We are poor mentally I agree but Arteta made a big mistake thinking Ramsdale was the problem. Ramsdale was only a symptom of crumbling at the end of last season with mistakes at Southampton. However Ramsdale saved us last year at Anfield, Villa, Newcastle. He got us important points keeping us in the title race until late although we were lucking it out. David Raya can't do that and that's why we crumbled very early. Arteta thought we were title challengers but infact Ramsdale and Xhaka kept us in the title challenge last year and this year we don't have both.

Have been saying the same since the beginning of the season, Declan is better defensively in that position over partey, but you see offensively, breaking the press with one touch football or a simple turn to beat two men , Declan is yet to have that, is ball carry ability and splitting passes are better than Declan. So once partey is fit , I will rather play partey as a 6 and Declan in the 8position on the left hand side or maybe even partey on the left midfield ahead of Declan and Declan as a 6.

Something that concerned me, i dont know if i hear Mikel properly. He was interviewed after this loss to fulham, he was asked if he is going to beef up the squad in the january window period and he said the is no need too, he is happy with the squad he has got. I dont know if i heard him correctly. And i dont know if he is watching the same game as everybody else, everyone can see that the are some missing links on the Arsenal squad, like a target man ( striker ) and i think Saka and Martinelli dont have enough competition in their positions.

@ikennanw Man United were better last season, Newcastle were better last season. City were better last season, less injuries and at no point did they have 1 win in 5 or 6. Brighton were better last season. Arsenal are nowhere near standards of last season. Thomas Partey and Xhaka were midfield core and we lost both. Xhaka left and Partey has been injured basically 99% of the season. Martinelli, Saka, Jesus and Odegaard nowhere near the level they produced last season. We are too predictable, too slow on build up and lack killer instinct in front of goal. Also City lost Gundogan and Mahrez, their squad depth isn't what it used to be. Their squad was capable of top 4 for years. Now, it isn't the case. Starting 11 is world class.

If you want to play open, counterattacking and low possession football (like a brentford, west ham) you need ramsdale, (even though his save % isn’t all that much better than raya’s) But if you want to play tiki taka or possession football and controlling games, you need Raya for his distribution, end of story. Ramsdale was never the focal point of the team in terms of morale.

It is his first job and there was a big risk when the Kronke's hired him. tbf he has grown as a coach and has turned a lot of things around for us. But the important question is this: do you want see him continue to 'learn on the job' and hope he comes through [in the end...] and wins us a major or get rid now and get that manager 'who hasn't cheated', as you put it, in? I'm guessing the answer is a definite yes. So which manager do you want to see come in ? I'm not sure who'd be best for us tbh and who we can realistically sign 🤔

Right on every point. Good take. The team that fell short last year needed a few tweaks, not open heart surgery. Now this is what we got. I just cannot see how we can turn this around. Top 4 will be a struggle.

Arteta needs to be accountable. Havertz is nowhere near an upgrade. He kills the system. A flop signing. In most games, he hardly does anything. To accommodate him, Odegaard is moving deeper. Our best creator is moving further away from the goal while Havertz plays every ball backwards. Everyone speaks about getting a new striker. We should be thinking about why all our scorers from last season are not able to score this season. Rice is a defensive upgrade to both Xhaka and Party but offensively, we did not upgrade on a chance creator and ball progressor.

This argument only works if the manager achieves success with the side. If those concerns lead to failure and the managers downfall... then yeah, they should've been addressed

Difference from last season was party and Xhaka, we moved the ball quicker and Xhaka had a killer pass in him. Its no wonder that our wingers are under performing. Our movement was at a snail's pace and it was easy for Fulham to nullify us

We need 3 or 4 players in January- far too much to do. I don’t see us winning a major honour under Arteta. We should move on from him at the end of the season.

One thing I said before the start of the season is Arsenal doesn't have a replacement for Xhaka, I wonder why arsenal didn't sign tielemans on a free... arsenal lacks a midfielder with well timed runs and good passing range like xhaka, tielemans could have filled that role

Tielemans absolutely could not have filled that role, hence why he doesn't even start for Villa. He's lazy and slow, the amount of times I've seen a player get past him and he just jogs back is unreal

@bashorundhikrullah2663 ah, so you're comparing an attacking midfielders attacking stats, with those of 2 players who play as defensive midfielders, and another in xhaka who was being used as a defensive midfielder up until his last 2 seasons at Arsenal. Last season, when xhaka was playing in a position he was comfortable in, who had the better stats, xhaka or tielemans? Exactly. As I said, Tielemans is too slow, and too lazy to be a box to box midfielder.

I said to people at the end of last season that Arteta is on borrowed time and people thought I was mad to say that. Nice to see I'm not lying now. One win in 6 and some people think Arteta is the man for the job. After today I wouldn't be surprised if this team finishes outside of the top 4. The fact they let west ham and fulham beat this team and they really think they can overhaul Man City and Liverpool absolutely no chance. Honestly their only hope for this season will be to focus on champions league and hope and pray the draw favours this team. Not even winning the fa cup will be enough to say all is forgiven.

It’s the end of December. Every team goes through a rough patch, this is the premier league. The title isn’t won in December.

Our fluidity was generally thwarted by a bus, but today we got pressed and couldn't buildup. We didn't have an inverting fullback for the first half, which Rice desperately needs. But in the second half it just felt like the team was dead, even with Tomi in there. I think it's a combo of overplaying and Arteta not adapting to how the prem is countering our tactics. We still suck against the midfield and winger overload.

Turkish you are sound and rounded when it comes to football. Not getting Kudus or Diaby rather going for Harvetz was our greatest undoing. Arteta messed up the transfer window that would have served as an opportunity to upgrade the team. The team is so predictable once Saka and Martinelli are found out. We were toothless and couldn’t do basic defending, conceding goals at will. Shameful to say the least

Mikel Arteta's weakness is Mikel arteta. The man over thinks things. The idea to bring harvetz in was a perfect example that he sees things from a stubborn point of view. What we need is another midfielder like partey to help in the midfield. The idea to sale xhaka was what shocked me about Mikel. That midfield three we had was excellent and what it needed was addition not subtraction. Hope he learns and fixes it. We need free flowing football back. That's our strength. That's where thrive.

Turkish you are correct , the manager has to look at self, how come he is not seeing anything wrong with his team? His two wingers are off form and he is starting both of them in every game, the left back and right back are both weak with Zinchenko and Ben White, we need a deep lying creative midfielder like Partey to partner Rice in the midfield and not Havertz , in any case i would rather he partners Georginho with Rice instead of Havertz who i think will be more effective as a center forward , we need a front three who work in tandem to cause chaos and instill fear in the opponent's backline, it's only that way that goals will come, currently our front three don't have any bite and our defence have become weaker conceding goals easily which is a recipe for disaster.

The real elephant in the room is Arteta accommodating Declan Rice ( as great as he has been individually) has unsettled the team offensively. Rice collecting the ball & conducting play where Partey would usually collected the ball (with Xhaka & Odegaard as immediate pass options) is a huge drop offensively.

Wrong. Kai Havertz has unsettled the team offensively. The LHS of Zinchenko,Xhaka and Martinelli with Jesus was electric last year. Rice has largely done his job because we are structurally a better team defensively which is what he brings to the team.

Last season last few games we was unable to play how we did all season... this season we still have not been able to play like we did last season.

Turkish has the same eye, when it comes critics and analysis. It is hard to say this can be fixed to make Arsenal seen really confident to win the league, as Arteta is stubborn on the way he play and the players who brought to this club. The whole idea of selling Xhaka was to bring a player who hustles, and support Rice, who has dribbling skills, high provide technique, attacker who also possesses speed ( more like Dominic Szoboszlai or Douglas Luis) but Arteta brought Kai to play on this position.

Arteta has to go if he doesn't maintain a credible challenge or win something this year. We must be honest, Havertz isn't a flop signing but its a misallocation of £65m; it could have been spent better. Xhaka was an underrated part of our team last year and his link up with Jesus and Martinelli helped them to score the goals they did which also reduced the amount of attention opposing teams could put on Saka. Selling him was a mistake, Partey has been injured this whole season and in hindsight would have been a preferable sale to Xhaka as he has a history of missing large parts of the season. Can Arteta fix this mess in another summer window? Yes. Am I prepared to give him another chance if this season is a failure? No, because he should be winning this year with the resources he has been given.

This Arsenal players and the manager doesn't have the mentality to win us a League,

I am surprised Arsenal fans are saying Arteta has "brought us back into the conversation " please give me a break, this is the Arsenal we have known for the last 20 years, title challengers by Dec, crumble by Christmas into the new year, have a run by April May to qualify for the champions league. Arteta didn't "bring us back" anywhere. He took us out of Europe and why should he be praised for just taking us back to where we use to be after spending 700 Mil. This club isn't going no where with Arteta in charge, he has done his best and need to move on.

Arteta is an inflexible type of manager, he needs to buy certain types of players in hope of making his formula work. Emery inherits what he has and try to extract the best out of the whole team.

Whenever I watch Arsenal they seem to only play one way, as if they’re 3nil up, lots of possession in their own half, sideways, backwards, sideways again, the ball never goes forward quickly. They’ve been worked out, their wingers are getting doubled up on, which should free space elsewhere, but they never look to exploit the space. They look very ordinary and in Jesus have the most overrated forward in the Premier League!

If you study back at all of our goals, the majority are not free flowing goals from open play. I spotted weeks ago go we have a problem with goals when they have been coming from defenders Kai havertz and set pieces. Our problem is simple, putting ball in back of net.

And lets be honest, I had doubts when Mikel took over, however, Mikel has dragged Arsenal out of a dark place, we were done, bang average, the fans and the team were so divided... look at us now. We would have never imaged fighting for titles this early into a rebuild. Our frustration from games like today come from how good we have been and our success. Mikel and the team have raised the bar so high we forget to sit back and realise the incredible progress we have made. 100% with you on this interview Turkish. but getting rid, or changing manager like some people have been saying is crazy talk.
