Mike Tyson's opponents BEFORE and AFTER Fighting - Part 2

Спорт

In his prime ‘Iron Mike‘ was nothing short of absolutely terrifying. His dark aura and fearsome punching power made him into one of the most destructive forces in boxing history. The Brooklyn native rose through the ranks at an alarming rate. He eliminated every opponent in his path en route to becoming the youngest heavyweight world champion of all time at just 21 years of age...

    The thing about Tyson was that he wasn't "the best" at any one thing. He wasn't the fastest, the best technician or the hardest puncher. But he was the very, very good at everything needed. No real weaknesses. His aggression put him over the top.

    Cus D’Amato imposed such a discipline in him somewhat in a good way but a little bit in a bad way too. But Indeed, had he been around, I’m pretty sure Tyson’s career would’ve probably been something like 60 or more to zero. The way he stepped into the ring in those early years with nothing but pure rage, made him near unstoppable.

  • @vuyN77
    @vuyN77 Жыл бұрын

    He was honestly respectful from the beginning! Fame, money and drugs messed him up the latter years of his career! He called Frank Bruno ‘Mr Bruno’ and most of the time all he’d say at media conferences in response to his opponents was that he’s just here to fight! I believe that could be the influence of his early trainers, the likes of Cus D’Amato who was brilliant as both mentor and trainer; his passing hit Mike very hard!

    Mike Tyson is a genetic freak! The power and speed, no one has ever compared. He knew how to use his smaller stature to get in close to the big tall boxers and take away the advantage their big long arms give them. When his career started he honestly seemed like such a humble nice person. However like many others extreme success changed him for the worse. Hopefully he's a happy man now. He will always be an absolute legend.

The only thing that all four of the fighters I mentioned had as good as Tyson was work ethic. All trained hard to get to where they once were. Tyson in his prime was the best peekaboo style fighter that boxing had ever seen... Bar none. Ali had speed but took way too many hits. Foreman and Holmes had power and were tough but no speed to catch a prime Tyson. Frazier was a power and highly skilled boxer but would not be able to keep up to prime Tyson's speed aggression and crafty foot work. None of the fighters could step to the right and generate power like Tyson. Watch the films boys you'll see.
