    According to George Foreman Joe Louis was seldom off-balance, was actively aggressive, used proper punches, had the best ratio of power and technique for a heavyweight boxer, was the best at using combinations, and was the best at knocking people out. A combination of these attributes makes him the greatest heavyweight boxer. According to George Foreman Muhammad Ali was the greatest man who was a heavyweight boxer. Foreman says Floyd Mayweather constantly improves, and he also praises Mike Tyson as someone who could have been second greatest after Joe Louis if he had more control. I respect George Foreman's opinion because he is a boxing analyst, and for his ability to withstand wear and damage over the long haul. I am an outlaw who learned to fight in the streets, although I was also formally trained in boxing. I don't think that Joe Louis could be an outlaw and a heavyweight champion of the world for 12 years at the same time. I think most people would agree that World War II was not as pointless as the Vietnam War. Joe Louis's character traits that I respect is that he didn't brag or gloat and he didn't insult and respected his foes. He didn't have to be obnoxious, troll or lie, because he was a better boxer than Ali, Joe Frazier and George Foreman, so he didn't need to be a showman. As someone who is trying to improve his hand-to-hand combat skills, I am not interested in extravagant publicity. I am interested in actual ability. This is where Joe Louis delivers. I respect Ali for his backbone, activism and innovation. Bruce Lee was not the greatest martial artist. Muhammad Ali was not the greatest boxer. This doesn't diminish them as pioneers, on whose shoulders we stand as a new generation of innovators! But to learn to fight effectively we must turn to true professionals like Louis. daddy _

    It’s hard for young people to appreciate the ups and downs of Tysons career. Up until his loss to buster Douglas, Tyson was literally on a pedestal higher than Michael Jordan. I was DEVASTATED after that fight..… I didn’t even wanna go to school that Monday… then, in the late 90s, he was probably the most hated person in sports. now he is once again one of the most well liked and respected person in sports again. Actually quite amazing. I’m glad he has come full circle back to a champion at life

    @DTysonator

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@onwardupward9392 Yes, Mike lost the hunger to be the best. It's hard to remain at the top without having intense passion for what you do. He seemed rather bored while entering the ring against James "Buster" Douglas. He even completely ignored a Joe Louis championship belt ceremony that the Japanese press were holding for him right before the fight was scheduled to begin. After all of these years, no one has ever asked Mike why he chose to do that, surprisingly enough! It likely came across as extremely disrespectful, so maybe he paid the price afterwards in that fight in a karmacal kind of way. Whatever the case, his opponent possessed the required hunger to be the best during that fateful fight. "Buster" bounced to the ring with plenty of life and purpose, he was on a mission, wanting to make his mother proud. The knockdown in the 8th Round definitely shook his confidence, as Douglas tended to give up when things did not go his way, despite not being noticeably damaged by Tyson's uppercut. He quickly pounded the canvas in disappointment, signalling that he was alert, rather than hurt. While Douglas stayed "flat on his ass" against Evander Holyfield in his next fight, Douglas forced himself to get up against Tyson. Had referee Octavio Meyran counted normally, he would have still gotten up accordingly before the count of 10. There was WAY too much riding on the line here with the death of his mother and all, to stay down for the count. The Douglas corner deserves credit for snapping him out of that trance, as they could be heard screaming at him to get back to his feet. Mike's major mistake is that he didn't fight with desperation from the start, he only fought back like a champion when he was already well behind and needed a miracle to win. Actually, two of the judges rigged their scorecards, so Tyson was still on pace for a draw at the very least. One of his eyes was swollen shut and his corner/"Team Tyson" was to blame for not bringing an endswell to this particular fight, arrogantly believing that their man was invincible. At the end of the day, everyone is human. The choices that we make ultimately impact the outcome from one day to the next, as this fight so brutally demonstrates. While "Buster" may have had the hunger to beat Mike this time, he proceeded to replace it with physical hunger for food from that point on. On the other hand, Mike got some of the fight hunger back to prove that the "Real Mike Tyson" was still alive and well, until he unfortunately got the bite hunger for Evander Holyfield. To be fair, "The Real Deal" treated Mike like absolute shit in both fights, stepping on his toes, low blowing him before the "balance shot" trip knockdown in Round 6 and infamously using his head as a weapon (Lennox Lewis and Hasim Rahman also confirm that Evander did the same to them, especially evidenced by the Golf ball-like bump that developed on Rahman's Fore!head). The only way that Mike could have overcame such an opponent would have been to focus on body shots to wear him down like a pair of puffed up purple MC Hammer genie pants, rather than head shots. It probably didn't help matters that Tyson landed a flush opening head shot on Holyfield's chin during their first bout, as it made him think that he could continue landing those shots from start to finish. Instead, it got Evander's attention and he knew what to expect in terms of Tyson's style from that point onward. Mike had a moment of brilliance in Round 5, when he used his trademark hook to the body to first stun Evander and then followed up immediately with an uppercut to the head, but instead of rinsing and repeating his killer combo all night long, he went head hunting all over again, which allowed Holyfield to duck underneath those predictable high punches and come back up with his head right in Tyson's face, which eventually caused Mike to snap during the rematch. Most people hated Mike at that point for biting Holyfield's ears twice and it would take him a while to regain the same level of popularity as before. However, Mike got the last laugh, as it made him even more famous and fascinating to the media and public alike, go figure! Anyway, I'm proud of Mike Tyson for continuing to make a name for himself, win or lose. While guys like Douglas, Holyfield and Lewis beat him in the ring, they will never come close to the overall impact that he has had on boxing and people's lives in general. Mike's influence is unbeatable, as is his fighting spirit. Keep it up and NEVER give up!

    Mike is hugely inspiring to me personally. My personal situation is bleak in that I am dying of a degenerative disease that is super painful…I’m still not old really and I have young kids so I have everything to fight for, but it’s really tough. I STILL am working to provide for my family despite dying and I am in a rough fight everyday to just do the right thing. My mental health takes a battering too as the pain is off the chart, my legs don’t really work too good and I keep pissing my pants. I find Mikes attitude to life and how much he has changed really inspiring me to keep fighting. I love the man. He isn’t a warrior to me because of his boxing, he is a warrior to me with how equally vulnerable he is and how honest he is with himself. He is an ambassador for change.

    Mr. Franzese, I have a suggestion… You should consider providing links to previous “parts/sit downs” within the description of your videos. That way people who haven’t seen “part one”, etc. can click on the provided link instead of having to search for the associated videos. I bet it would attract more views with easier access. Just a thought. God bless you and yours!

    I have been watching Mike Tyson’s interviews on you tube for awhile now. He is a highly intelligent individual and I enjoy seeing him in the place he is in now. He remembers fights he watched from years ago, quotes poets, and has a great knowledge of past rulers from hundreds even thousands of years ago. This retention is a sign of high intelligence in my opinion. Imagine if he had Cus around him instead of the blood suckers that represented him. I bet he would have not gone bad for that time.
