Dave Weckl since ever so professional, powerfull and sensitve, i think he even could play a drumsolo to put a baby into sleep or accompany any nature phenomenon. Fits perfect with the strings. Outstanding performance!!

Agreed. Weckl is insane. I saw Stern last year with Tom Kennedy on bass, and while he didn't have Weckl on the kit he did have Dennis Chambers who is also amazing.

Dennis Chambers is totally amazing. Hoping to see these 3 in Oakland in December.

Weckl is playing phantastic on this video. Of course every musician has got his own style, so what? There is no musician in the world whose style fits in to every music, but to me Dave is an outstanding drummer I love to hear. With Mike Stern he is wonderful. I heard this line-up live in italy the same year and they were awesome. Four masters. Thanks for posting the video.

Didier Lockwood is from another planet. Heard him twice with Mike and miss him sooooo much. R.I.P. Didier Lockwood.

As we are approaching the third year without Didier Lockwood, I looked around if there was somebody who could eventually walk in his musical shoes, maybe also coming from the French line of tradition of the jazz violin. Yes, there is Fiona Monbet, who some call Didier's "spiritual daughter"; same virtuosity, same musical language, same spirit, but no copy. Great musician. So, as we're missing Didier sadly, it's good to know there is a keeper of the flame.

The faster Dave plays, the more relaxed he looks.

This is what I called music perfection. :)

Nice stuff. I've always like Stern with both his soloing and his tasty comping with wonderful chord voicings. Gives me chills (good chills). Love his scale choices when soloing. I wish I could think that abstractly in a musical sense when I'm playing.

Absolutely stellar band. I have seen Mike Stern several times through the years and every time he played with world class musicians and every show was inspired.

Awesome band here. What else can you say about Dave Weckl? He's simply one of the greatest drummers of his generation.

Dave weckl es uno de los más respetables y excelentes músicos de la era moderna entre bateristas de Jazz, su estilo tan preciso e inconfundible lo hace fácil de identificar con tan solo escuchar su música.

@@gandalfderkotfarbene962 Ich will damit andeuten, dass es nur auf das Talent ankommt ! McLaughlin war nicht auf Berklee, er war auf gar keiner Akademie, hat noch nicht mal Abi. Shawn Lane versteht mehr von Gitarre als alle Berklee -Experten zusammen. Allan Holdsworth konnte keine Noten lesen, Paco de Lucia erst recht nicht. Sein Vater nahm ihn von der Schule als er 9 war. Außerdem mag ich Mike Stern überhaupt nicht. Echtes Talent in höchstem Maße haben Bireli, Sylvain Luc und mein neuer Star Antoine Boyer, elektrisch und akustisch.

very tasty high quality music, great musicians, fantastic grooves, blue chip performances all around... Mike is as poetic as ever, The violinist is outstanding to say the least... the bassist is pure magic.. Dave has been playing incredibly better passion wise since his Turkish girlfriend entered his life.. we see him in Istanbul all the time "we love the guy"... just 5 stars all around.. great music hear .. I'm gonna listen to it again :)
