    It’s a good album but it doesn’t really quite give me the feeling poppin In a Fort Minor or an LP record is. I can tell because it came up so much faster than those albums cause of what happened and they were mainly therapy for Mike and the fans.

    Im so beyond excited to see Mike Shinoda on ! To say LP is a favorite and gotten me thru significant moments in life ~ the good, the bad and all the stuff in between is a understatement! I was watching Tana episode the other day and I actually was thinking I wonder if he would ever be a guest on this show because I think the style of interview would be fantastic to hear with him and answers would be interesting. I’m the same age group as LP so I have grown up with them literally as they have grown and matured as musicians. I am still devastated over the loss of Chester prob more than I should be as a complete stranger and fan of the band and music. I’m so beyond excited to hear this never played anniversary stuff that is being released. Thank you guys for having him on and thank you Mike and LP for being such a significant part of who I am and being my therapy when I had nothing else but myself and music. This interview really means a lot to me. ❤️❤️❤️

    I’m here at 40 minute mark of this video posting, so I haven’t finished watching this yet, but I wanted to say: The importance of Linkin Park to my life and my identity of music is unexplainable. I was 13 when Meteora came out. Those first two records shaped my influence of music in a way that I compare everything sonically to Linkin Park. I guess what I’m trying to say is, thank you for everything. As Zane said in the interview, your part of the transaction is done, it’s up to us to keep this going now and honor Chester 🙏🏼

    I love listening to Mike talk. One of my high school friends died a week before Chester. She was 25. I've listened to Linkin Park since I was 10 and I dunno but even though my friend was obviously more important to me personally, I was already grieving and then it felt like a double loss. It was awful. Hearing Mike talk about the stages of grief made a lot of sense and sometimes it feels like yesterday and it really jumps around from denial, acceptance, anger, bargain, and depression.

  • @LexieAssassin
    @LexieAssassin Жыл бұрын

    The part about grief is so true. I lost a friend almost 3 years ago to a heroin OD under circumstances that mean there's no way to know if it was accidental or suicide. As far as anyone I know knew, they'd been clean for a long while, but anything is possible, and I think that all makes it hard to find closure. I mean, with my grandparents, I knew they were dying, and I had time to make my peace with that fact, but their death wasn't like that. I'd thought I was done grieving them until a day just the other week when I remembered and lost it for a little while.

    I love the fishing metaphor. It's something that has been described since the art existed (greeks really liked that idea). True inspiration (they say) feels like you "found" something that's already there. As if you discovered something that already existed. I think many artists can relate to that concept. Pretty cool to hear Mike describe it in his own words.

    28:40 it's really cool to see Mike saying that because that's my exact musical experience lmao. I had never listened to a whole album on purpose until like 3 years ago. I listened to music on KZread, I liked it, I put it on my playlist. The only band I ever had an actual connection to know more than like 5 songs was Linkin Park, ironically. I think this may be a result of the times we live in, the technology we have and the way it changes how we listen to music. I grew up on KZread so that shaped the way I approach it.

    Hearing Mike talk about how he stared with music made from samples, then worked his way back towards "band" music, as well as how little of a rock sound was in their early demos, I realize that I may have been listening to Linkin Park all wrong. In my mind, I categorized them as "rock n roll band with non-rock influences" like Red Hot Chili Peppers or Sublime, now I realize they were more "hip-hop group who played live instruments along with samples" like The Roots or Stetsasonic.

    Hoping for a collaboration between between mike shinoda/linkin park and yuko suzuhana/waggaki band. This one was from Wagakki Band and Amy Lee of EVANESCENCE - Bring Me To Life premium symphonic night concert at osaka kzread.info/dash/bejne/mp9lqdaSe5qoerA.html Mike Shinoda and Yuko Suzuhana have so much similarity both are classically trained musicians in the early part of their lives particularly on piano and both have founded their own respective band. Mike was half-japanese and Yuko was 100% japanese it will be really cool if they can do a waggaki (japanese musical instrument) rendition of Linkin Park songs or maybe a new song/album.
