Hey Mike. Nijel here. I love this concept for a series of videos. Great idea sir! I’m also digging the different style of photography.

It's kinda hard to pick figures that are still available. I know we all like to complain about multiple releases of the heroes. But for the new collector who just got into the line, there's not that much to choose from that isn't scalper price for some characters, though I definitely agree with this list minus the guard. I'd probably swap that with a stormtrooper for a general OT collection. I agree that they're not based on OT, but most people are gonna buy them for OT collections and they still look like they belong (I believe they're actually based on the rogue one appearance that was apparently reused for mando)

That’s absolutely fair and I agree with everything you said. Especially with the Stormtroopers being based on Rogue One designs and reused for Mando.

Hey Mike! Love the list, and I agree with everything. I'm curious if you can share what's the difference between the OT and Mandalorian version of the Stormtrooper armor. To my untrained eyes, they look the same. Thanks!

They are pretty much the same. In my head, OT stormtroopers have the holster. And the new one doesn’t. But upon a little more research, not every stormtrooper in the OT has holsters. So it’s kinda iffy. The design of the stormtroopers armor changed subtly between the 3 original movies.

I have to say it: that new intro makes me want to party. As soon as you did the Dan bit, I got my money's worth. The rest was a treat.

Some very good picks for this list

After seeing the thumbnail pic I was curious/concerned as to where this one was gonna go. BUT it really turned out well. I may have omitted Lando in top 10 but hard to do only 10 for OT! Luke & Vader would be my top 2 and Emperor needs to be higher, but small differences.

The only C3P0 and R2D2 I can recommend are the Bandai 1:12 scale modelkits. perfect in scale and look great *chefs kiss*

Great list and as I only collect OT,Rogue One,Mando/Boba Fett Black Series I was very pleased to see I have all 10! Just grabbed another Gamo guard in the May the 4th sale too!

I just started collection Black Series figures and I gotta say, I wished I had watched your list beforehand; it would've saved me a lot of research and head scratching decisions haha! Had I known that the Cantina version of Obi-Wan bore the photorealistic head, I would've tried finding him instead of buying the ANH 40th anniversary version. Still, while trying to collect one "definitive" version of each character, I'm glad I've still gotten pretty much most of the figures you've mentioned. The only exception is the Gamorrean Guard, as the Jabba plot from ROTJ is not my least favorite part in all of the OT. Now, I'm just waiting for Hoth Princess Leia to arrive; I ordered the red carded version not knowing that there was a ESB 40th anniversary version. I hope they're both the same and that I did not get the least better of the two... Don't know if you did more Top 10 videos in the PT and ST, but can't wait to find out!

Here’s what my prequel “must have” list would be (no particular order): 1: Anakin Skywalker (RotS) 2: Obiwan Kenobi (RotS) 3: Jar Jar Binks 4: Mace Windu 5: Commander Cody 6: Jango Fett 7: Count Dooku 8: General Grievous 9: Battle Droid 10: Darth Maul I’d put padme on this list but I think the one we have isn’t a great representation of padme as a whole. Jango is on the list as a mirror to Boba. Dooku, Greivous and Maul being the main villains. Anakin and obiwan as the main heroes. Mace in there for good measure! And then Cody to represent the GAR and the battle droid to represent the CIS

I haven’t even begun to think about my Prequel list, but I have a feeling some of these will overlap.

Fantastic list. Totally agree with most. However There maybe a couple of moves, but only because of biases.

I would love to see you make a prequel and sequel video like this and I hope hasbro either makes a archive Kylo Ren or a new one with face printing that'd be really nice

The ideal Vader for me will come when they hopefully use the TESB body with a brand new removable helmet head for the ROTS anniversary. The only flaw the TESB one has for me is the brow of the helmet is not fully accurate and it makes him look angry or annoyed. The same happens with the FX helmet

Knocked it out of the park Mike. Great list. How could a Chewbacca look good? Hmmm. Greedo is the only on from my list to yours different.

I just bought the entire main cast from a new hope and a few figures every year if they look cool and see something I really want like a slave leia or a obi wan kenobi from a new hope

I agree on the Hoth Leia. She is my favorite and she was my first Leia when I was a kid and Bespin Han is my favorite Han. My first Han was big head Han, but Bespin Han got the most play time when I was a kid. He got so wore out he couldn't stand on his own anymore.

Would you recommend the newest archive princess leia? I see her a lot and just got the Chewie and 3PO 2 pack.

Its ur list it works for you that's what matters. For me my list is much much different,like 2013 BobbaFett Great Figure 💯. But this is what makes SW so Epic ❗🤘💥 There is something for us all & plenty of it 😜✌

Good list overall. I do agree with most of the choices, in fact, the only one that I would swap out would be Gamorrean with the new mold Stormtrooper and swap Hoth Leia with Endor Leia for only 1 thing, her hands on the Hoth figure can barely hold the rebel blaster (and her trigger finger is a bit fragile), while the Endor Leia can hold her pistol without any issue and the soft good poncho is a great look for her. I really do hope Hasbro does a better R2 in the future (since the best scale for R2 for a Black Series display is the Bandai model kit).

I honestly struggled with this one, your choices were specific one I was contemplating for a bit. So naturally, I think they’re good choices.

I think it was a really good list. My favorite versions of a few of these are not Black Series, but figuarts. I love that new Jedi Luke they recently put out. It may officially be from his Madalorian appearance, but I have him with my BS Vader. I find it odd I missed this video when it came out. Sometime youtube sucks with their notifications.

All trilogies please :) How was Tarkin not on the top 10. That figure is epic. Great video regardless of your massive mistake . . . also that Toy Galaxy homage was epic. I never realized until your video that the original Yoda looks like SpaceBalls Yogurt next to the new one.

Tarkin is GREAT. And so is General Veers. But in the end… they were just old guys in uniform, so they didn’t make the list. I do love them though.

Now I won't that Vader more money I'm broke because of your excellent channel thumbs up 👍🙂

Great list… I did mine some weeks ago, and I agree in half of your choices. My list includes General Veers, Biker Scout, Rebel Hoth Soldier, Dengar and Endor Leia… mine doesnt include lando, emperor, obiwan, or hoth Leia

Honestly, those were all on my short list. In the end, I decided to go with classic characters that had bigger roles rather than a lot of smaller role people.

Great list & fun video. I especially agree with your #1, incredible action figure! I think my favorite Luke figure is the Snowspeeder pilot Luke. I don't know, it just looks so good

Snowspeeder Luke was a good 2nd, and one I considered, but with the headsock on the head under the helmet, it made that look too niche for me to put it on the list.

These thought exercises of top tens are interesting. It’s moot for me because I’m not new to Black Series. Many years and a few hundred figures later I could probably do 20 for OT, 10 for PT, and maybe 7 for ST, then all of the Solo/Rogue One/most of Clone Wars/All Bad Batch/almost all the Mandalorian and most of the Gaming Greats are fun figures too. But dang it Hasbro! Stop punking us and redo R2! He is the most consistent hero in the whole franchise. Even in his old age when he’s napping all the time, R2 comes through! Give the character his due. Bandai did. You don’t want another company to have a more definitive version of that character do you? How hasn’t Lucasfilm just banged down the door demanding R2 get some respect?

Lookin forward to the other lists. Tarkin would be high in my list. Iconic and one of the first face printed figures in the line.

Tarkin is good, but I felt like he’s not a must have for my top 10. He’d be top 15 for sure though.

Overall I agreed with your list, but I would’ve swapped R2 for Lando and a Stormtrooper for the Gamorrean Guard.

I agree with most of this, I don't particularly care for Lando or the gam guard so I'd put in R2 and a storm trooper instead (I know all the R2's suck, but I feel like you have to have him) other than that I personally think the Snow Speeder Luke is one of the BEST figures in the entire line, and I personally think ANH Vader looks cooler than ESB, the slightly worse articulation isn't enough for me to put ESB over ANH. I love this style of video!! Please make more!!!

To me, Lando is just as core of a character as R2, and his figures don’t suck. Snowspeeder Luke was on the short list, but his outfit wasn’t iconic enough, and the hat under the helmet just made me decide he wasn’t top 10 worthy. But I like where your head is at.

I enjoyed your list. As a Stormtrooper collector and someone who has always loved the iconic armour design I feel one should have been represented. If cheating is permitted, perhaps Luke Death Star Escape?

I genuinely wouldn’t put any stormtrooper on my list from that old body style. I struggled not putting the one we got on my list because the armor is specifically molded after their Mandalorian/Rogue One look. But your list of yours, you do what you want!

will you do one for prequels?

I hope hasbro re releases the rebel fleet trooper as the original release is hard to come by these days.

I could never fathom spending 20+ bucks on a small guy like Yoda, so I "cheated" and used a POTF2 Yoda instead! Most 3in Yodas will probably look better in scale with the 6in figures.

Escape Leia beats out Hoth Leia just by a little bit but still beats her.

Jar Jar is my #1, not sorry at all...followed by The Bad Batch figs, Chopper, Zeb, any of the clones, prequel jedi, Gamorrean guard.

Dunno who you’re talking to, but no one’s gonna read this but me. And you can have that opinion. It’s weird. The bigger one is wildly out of scale and it’s articulation is way more limited. But you can like what you like.
