Hey wwv, he could have a brother named Mack. I don't know, but if he did it would just be another example of "less is more".

Mike has given more than he will ever know. This is why he's a famous role model for all of us. My 14 yr old is taking welding.

We love him. I've been a blacksmith since I was 15 I also do a ton of welding. I tought myself almost everything I know. Working with your hands is an art, skill, and a blessing
I love the fact that it's a dont tread on me coin. What a wholesome episode
Many of us are trying to revive these arts. I make knives & the leather sheaths/wood core scabbards to match as well as other hand tools, leather etc. America needs more of it.
Anything done handmade is 1000X times better then something that was made by a bunch of machines in a factory.

what about handmaking the machines that make the machines in the factory? or programing the AI, that controls the machines that make the machines in the factory?
Love you and your dedication to our country and it's craftsmen and women.
I have a simple ring made from a silver dime. My neighbor made it for me over 50 years ago. I watched him drill out the dime's center and pound it out on an anvil under a shade tree in his yard. It means a great deal that it was hand made just for me. Love ya, Mike. Keep up the good work!
The fact that you encounter 2 individuals in craftsmanship, that watched you growing up, to me, says you influenced their path more than you or even they expected it to. You met 2 people who watched you growing up and the admiration in their voices says it all. The look on your face with each one saying that, must have put you on Cloud 9. It sure made me smile. I watch one of these episodes every lunch at work. I work at a Walmart. You are my all-time favourite to watch during my lunch. Used to watch Dirty Jobs back in the day too!
"Dirty Jobs"was one of my absolute favorite shows!!! Love this man ❤
8 years ago. wild how this wasnt televised
Thank you, Mike, for shining another ray of sunshine on our great American artisans!
I never change the station when Mike Rowe is on screen. I've never loved a TV personality more. He is gorgeous and brilliant and hilarious.

I started taking woodworking classes in 1972 at 12 years old. I learned early on that quality isn't expensive, it's priceless! Every job that I've done in the past 50+ years, I have unconditionally guaranteed forever. I'm proud to say that I have never had a dissatisfied customer or a recall on anything that I have ever built. I'm happily retired now and enjoying life as I'm converting a Transit van into my traveling home.
So Mike .. @ 4:53… The shout out to “parts unknown “ is also allowing us to remember Anthony Bourdain …He , like You had that gift to tell the story.✊🏼
I still enjoy teaching leather art. No longer a leather artist by trade(retired) but still show others what I know.... Love seeing this!
Mike Rowe has been a fav for a LONG time!
Nothing better than American craftsmanship. Pay more for the quality. Spend less in replacements.
Keep up the good work Mike Rowe. God Bless you sir.
Things we don't see any longer!!?? I remember there was a "Craft and Saddle" Shop near my home town. They taught how to make designs in leather and creating such things. Our Boy Scout troop used to pay visits there a lot, until It burned down one day! Never again!!
Nothing beats a handiwork of a craftsman. It's always built with passion, hard work, and love; and it last a lot longer than most machine made things.
This is so great, it’s awesome to see young people crafting and taking a bad situation and making good out of it. I love it ❤
So good to see now a days, younger generation doing trades again, there is hope. Thanks Mike for all you do.
I wish the youth would want to be professionals like these guys. Not some social media nothing.
Mike, I really wish you could you the way we all see you. I don't have words. You're amazing. You inspire ppl.
funny how the shop owner dodged mikes question asking if its a consignment.

I have an 1884 Morgan Silver Dollar as my wedding ring. Got mine from the company 'change you can wear'. Love it
I love and remember the story of how you got into showbiz starting with the Hocking of jewelry😂 and here you are now 👑🇺🇲✝️

I called instantly seeing that ring spin so masterfully.... It was almost hypnotizing. 😳😵 😂

Any day to be in frame with Mike Rowe is worth living and creating for.

16:59 you're such a hoot, Mike! Definitely an icon to this craftsmen, even though we're the same age!
I'd love to see more of Mike doing crafts and learning trades as well! I think it'd A. Do really well viewer-wise B. Inspire many people, young and old, to take up a hobby trade or career.
My dad made a ring out of a nickel. He pounded it with a spoon. The inside has the words on a nickel. Dad made it for my mom when he was on a ship in the Pacific. It looks like a silver ring. I wear it occasionally as it has a lot of memories.
Mike going back into his roots of a TV salesman with the marketing ad they did qvc style was hilarious 🤣 that made my day better for 17:14. Thanks Mike! Lol 🇺🇸🙏
Nice wallet. I have one made in the USA from baseball glove leather I purchased from The J. Peterman Company many years ago. I've taken care of it and it will be around after I'm gone.
The mix of information, moral examples, and humor is what makes Mike Rowe, as far as I'm concerned, an amazing guy
back in the mid 90's a friend of mine and I bought 2 wallets together at a store i remember i paid 70$ for mine .. which was a lot of money back then That wallet lasted me 25 yrs ... Great video
I love Ponce City Market and loving how the last couple episodes were filmed in GA. We have so much creativity here 🙏
Wow....what a wonderful place this is! Thnx for showing them off Mike!
Now Mike you have some of your Eagle Scout coming out there.😆
Thank you for sharing this, was great to see leather working.
Awesome seeing this kind of work 😁 I've been trying to get my leather work going for a couple years.

Great job guys. Thank you 😊
Skilled tradesmen and artisans are a boone to society that was slowly becoming less and less. Fortunately, it seems on the rise once again and I am grateful for it. Thank you Mike for highlighting how valuable skilled work is from myself and hopefully every other skilled tradesman and artisan out here in this crazy world.
5:38 so poetic, Mike 😂
The true way to make America great again. Keep it up everyone.
Elijah should make "We The People ", and "Don't Tread On Me" rings.. They'll sell..
I as well made my wife a ring from a coin, different method though, just a hammer, anvil, time and a sander and buffering wheel. Feels really good to give a loved one something made by hand
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻, Always interesting and great to watch!
I'm an artist and I'm self employed, I found work refinishing furniture for hotels and it helps me afford to paint and create many things for all kinds of people. I was on the college path for 7 years before I figured out school wasn't going to work for me. Now I make life work for me where I see the opportunity to create art💙
I admire artistry, thanks for the video!
Loved this, thank’s Mike!
That dood's speaker for a cellphone is exactly like my 1909 Victrola wind-up record-player. Yes, mine still works.
Love the content, 3 very interesting stories. Thanks Mike Rowe!
Love this! I have two degrees, but now I'm also doing leatherwork. I think it's so important to have a skill you can do with your hands. Perfect example was the IGWM guy. You can never tell when you'll have to depend on your own skill to make a living these days.
thankyou mike for telling the world its a good think to work in the trades . worked as a millwright for 40 years and can tell you a blue color worker can make a good living and retire and live well
Mike, look into Jon Jackson and Comfort Farms in GA
Wonderful show! Excellent job on the who, what, and why but I must have missed the where.
Thanks, great video on leather work, l loved the young mans tat and meaning.
Mike,you rock! Peace
" been watching you since I was a kid" 👍💪

Awesome, thanks Mike.
hope he sells a lot of rings!!! Great Mike!

Fantastic video, Made in America should be the Mantra. These individuals are wonderful examples of how to be great entrepreneurs. Thank you Mike for Sharing. Everyone stay safe, happy and healthy. From Henrico County Virginia
I miss you on TV Mike please do more seasons of dirty jobs
After watching this episode I was wondering if you have heard of Jimmy Diresta. I am sure you would love him since he checks all the boxes when it comes to the need for tradesmen like plumbers , welders and carpenters. I believe he was one of the first makers and may have popularized the genre more than anyone. It would be a great collaboration between you two….that’s the way I see it….😂
great ending!
Valdosta State University. Cool. I remember when it was Valdosta State College. My mom and dad both meet and graduated from there.
Great stuff!!
Great episode! I need to get one of those wallets
Mike Rowe is a good man. I hope I can add to this world a bit as much. With AI coming, people better start learning trades that can't be replaced.
Craftsman, artist, plumbers, electricians, carpenters, welders...but what about the lonely and often forgotten INDIE book writer? I know I have commented before on your posts about it, and I also sent pictures of my Knobel Eclipse experience. Hey - I'd dance on my roof top if I could meet you and Chuck and the gang and just tell my story. Keep up what you are doing and I will keep being a donor to the Mike Rowe Foundation! Cheers.🍾
Mike, i have watched many of your videos on TV and one thing that hits me is... Damn, i'd love to just hang out with you for one day. Frank from Sydney Australia
Keep up the good work !
The first time I ever saw Mike Rowe do a Ford commercial I thought they should have a commercial where he says in his regular size and voice. Hi I am Mike Rowe and then there is a little micro Mike rowe in the palm of his hand, and he says in a little high-pitched voice, and I am micro, and then the guy finishes the ad and his helium sounding voice.
Mike you should come down the south Mississippi or Texas and do an episode on rodeo
I knew that your home shopping network experience would one day pay off.😅
That was an awesome video!
Those speakers are modeled off of the Victrola
I learned kind of how to do mainly how not to but I also kinda how to fix some. I also learned that the needles are very very sharp they will go through the fingers easily. Ow it hurts 😮
Making wallets not stealing wallets just selling wallets! 💯
I love made in America things!
Wow! The whole lighter bit sounded a lot like Anthony Bourdain.
Too bad this didn't air when you shot it. Wallet dude closed shop about six years ago! There's a thread in the r/Atlanta subredit from 3 years ago. He stated then that he had closed three years prior. He went to help other local artists, and focus on his full time job. Kinda side funny, I went looking for him because I thought that $100 for *that* wallet was a steal!
Gandalf is a glassblowers term for a long smoking pipe, also, Mike.. title baited me heh. Mike, Glassblowers at Corning Museum of Glass are under reported as crafters... would make a good episode
He could make really good badge wallets.
I am going to a leather smith to replace my broken belt loop.
