Mike 'Rooftop' Escamilla Bike Check
Спорт
From being a stunt double in feature Hollywood films to riding vacant Hollywood pools, Mike 'Rooftop' Escamilla is living up his best life, and he's doing it all on his Signature United Caveman V2 Frame.
2016 saw the first release of Rooftop's Signature United Caveman Frame, and in 2020 we dropped the V2 in all new graphics and colours. In this video Mike gives us the run down of his personal Caveman V2 setup, from the parts he's running to the history behind designing his frame, the inspiration for the graphics and why he wanted to have a bashguard.
If you would like to see another run of these frames get in touch to let us know, who knows what is in store in the future....

Rooftop is Legendary
Mike needs a tv show
the old ads in this video are amazing
Best film in a long time! Stay Rad Rooftop...
Had the smoked chrome Haro master bash in the 90's. Was lucky enough to hunt one of the black Caveman frames down, love the nod to the greatest BMX generation, with a point to the future. Great frame, thanks Mike!

..... So United, makes us a Caveman signature bashguard Rooftop frame! 🙏
I had a Bully, it was a game changer in the streets. Didn't last very long the rear dropouts/frame was weak but still my favorite.
those grips were the friggin best
I always liked his Evel Knievel issue Hoffman that was on the cover of ride.
This is the coolest frame I've ever seen

Rode a black and green Bully Bashguard in the 90s. One of the best bike I have ever rode.
The late 80s and early 90s was when I was obsessed w/ BMX then when I turned 14 I started riding very hard.... It didn't take long before I was breaking parts constantly then I found a bike shop and started building rims for parts then I got a legit BMX bike. Best time of my life.... Oddly enough I still have some of my old parts from then. 😁
Adam Banton jamming in the back ground
I love this
I ride a caveman frame and he is not joking about how fast that guard can slide out from under you. I may have to try the tire trick that he did
Man bikes are fucking horrendous looking now.. that bike brings me back to the good old days ...i love it
What he says at the end about the next gen , another place to grind . 🌎 unexplored tricks. Post Miki fleck one? Could be a fun edit , give his BB a week of
At 15 I had a haro chrome team master. The kid bought it new. He Didn't like it and left the frame behind a house. I bought it from him for 80.00 dollars. Used slid on railroad ties.
Where can we buy this Rooftop? Is there another run coming?

Those grips are Demolition team...Man I loved them when I rode them in like early 2000s...how is he riding them still? Much of had a NOS stock of them.

Looks like he isn't doing much riding anymore the chain is rusty af or maybe he just washed it for the interview and didn't have time to oil the chain.

@@juanfo7307 rusty chain doesn't mean anything and in bmx most don't worry about cleaning their chain. He does ride just not a whole lot. I don't even know when they stopped selling those grips so I'm sure he has a few left since he spoke highly of them.

@@juanfo7307 I have never oiled my chain in my life …. But you are right I haven’t been able to ride much over the last 18 months so to injury but I’m back in the mend ans hoping to be getting out soon …
NIce!!
Hear you on that retirement flat tire

Roofslop gets better looking every year way unfair dude!
As you're running a few different companies parts, I would suggest trying out the Kink Brake Set-up! Levers, Cables, Gyro, Brakes with a Front Brake Conversion Dealy! Those or Fly Bikes Manual CNC Levers! They're arguably the nicest feeling Levers in BMX! I'm at a point now where nothing else feels "right"

Imagine telling a 45 year old BMX pro what he should be running.

@@harveybrooks2597 Having issues with reading or your sight mate? Nowhere in my comment do I tell Mike or anyone for that matter what they should be running. There's this thing called a "Suggestion" right? So when someone is always tweaking their bike, looking for the best set up possible, especially when it comes to brakes! You try out all sorts of different parts, mixing & matching seeing what works best for you. Then when other people see that, they make this thing called a Suggestion which is usually a friendly comment passing on information about products they've had good experiences with. I'd suggest for you learning the difference between telling someone to do something vs suggesting they try something. Big difference.
Can’t talk bashguards without fugazi in the background
