I did the sound for one of Mike shows when he first went on the road. He showed up early for the sound check and lifted all of the speakers onto the stage by himself.. He is one of the nicest musicians / song writers that I had the pleasure of working with..

This man played football for Penn State (defensive tackle 66-69) . Outland trophy winner, maxwell award winner, finished 5th for the heisman trophy, wrestled at Penn State, unanimous all American, college football hall of fame, #7 overall pick in the 1970 NFL draft by the Cincinnati Bengals, 2x pro bowl, 2x first team all pro, etc. What a legacy ! Great job Mike, you are someone that is an inspiration and a true role model !

Ball players are goid for more than just playing games

New Years Eve weekend I saw Mike Reid on some TV show on PBS. Don't know the name of the show but it was copyright 2023. He was talking about songs he has written and was singing and playing some of them on the piano. I haven't seen him on tv in a long time and it was neat seeing him. I always loved this song Walk On Faith.

when this was a hit my husband and I were trying to adopt a baby..... I listened to this song all the time, it gave me so much hope. We did adopt about a year after that, and a 2nd one 3 years later....

Jeffrey Baker Yup. He's from Altoona Pennsylvania and played college ball at Penn State. He quit pro ball to concentrate on his music. Wrote and performed a beautiful song in honor of Joe Paterno.

NFL Films did a story about him writing and preforming songs. In 1984, Reid won a Grammy Award for Best Country Song with "Stranger in My House", which was recorded by Ronnie Milsap.

One of the best songs ever recorded!

Out of curiosity I went to a live Mike Reid show at Bogarts in the University Village, Cincinnati, Ohio (probably 1978). The owner of the club, Al Porkolab, was my neighbor (lived upstairs) at the time He gave me tickets for Mike Reid and Tom Waits. Both were great shows, but the real surprise was Mike Reid. What a talented performer; his keyboard skills were superb, too. One of the best performances I've ever seen. Walk on faith, indeed. Great song; great performance; great talent; great message. Thanks, Mike!!!

I know what you mean of going thru hard times. I believe I am going thru it but in denial. Even my dog knows it when I am sad and she gives me kisses. This song lifts me up every time I play it. I also don;t know how I got a hold the tape of Reid that has this song but after I discovered this song on KZread I found the tape in my collection. Keep on pushing forward and believe.

i have family in critcial condition and i needed a song to uplift me and my family as well as friends. Immediately i remembered this song. I'm so glad i found it. i put it on my facebook. Thank You Mike Reid.

calming joy, peaceful happiness, and so many other light, heartfelt emotions; these are the feelings true country music is suppose to invoke within someone *unless it's a sadder piece meant to do otherwise* not getting drunk, causing mayhem, and being irresponsible, we got pop and crap rap for that.

When this came out, I ran and bought the CD. I heard there was a second CD, but I've never found it. I love this song!

I lost my mother to sepsis 6 years ago in November. I had all but given up hope of living a normal life again. Then I found this song. Oh my God, it's like I can live again.

I learned to play this song decades ago. And somehow faded from my repertoire. Now it's back strong as ever.

So glad I found this song, I used to sit in my car and cry listening to this song over and over during a rough spot in my marriage, this song helped me through it

Shell gas stations in early 1990s began making tapes, I think for a promotion for the new Rotella T. The name of it was Farther Down The Road (or Further Down The Road). Casette tapes then (for you kiddos, that's like the parents of the CDs, then portable music electronics.) lol
