I met Modano at the first open practice the Dallas Stars held after the move from Minnesota. He was very nice, and signed some items and talked with me and my brother for a few minutes. He was a superstar, and a busy young man I am sure, but him taking those few minutes to be nice to fans gave me a moment I will always remember.

Yeah, I’ve heard a lot about that by the dude, very approachable and appreciative of his fans. True ambassador of the sport of hockey.
I was a Minnesota hockey kid thru the 90s and #9 was ALWAYS on my back... was heartbroken when the MINNESOTA North Stars went to Dallas but still cheered for them mostly because of Mo... now my boys wear #9 so tradition passed down... life COMPLETE!!!

Not even a close second really? He pretty much put D on the map for hockey.
Followed Modano's career from the time Lou Nanne drafted him 1st overall. I got to see him play in-person vs. St. Louis March 14, 1991. He was 20 at the time, yet stood out among seasoned veterans by his skills, & smarts. He helped MN. gain a point in the standings by the North Stars tying the score 18 min. into the third period.

@@SSNESS yeah 1 year. Didn’t amount to much. The colors didn’t suit him. In my opinion that last year doesn’t count. Thinking and at the time seeing him as a wing didn’t agree with my eyes or my heart. Great guy.
I am really enjoying your videos. Your knowledge is extensive making them very informative. You have a clean and clear voice that is enjoyable. You definitely help me with name pronunciation. And, each video ends with a nice message/moral.

Glad to hear you're getting good value out of the videos!
You forgot to mention the curve of his blade was the best 😉.

Highest scoring American born player. His rookie card year of 1990 has the most hall of famers in any one rookie class. Also, the Stars put their chips on the table again because they drafted another American 1st overall right out of high school and it didn't pan out. Probably too much too soon for the kid. But they gambled again with Modano about 5 years later and the rest is history

Brett Hull isn’t actually solely American. He was born in Canada but has a dual citizenship.
Games played? Didnt chelios get or did make nhl late? Got vids i subscribe 👍
Do you ever take suggestions on the next hockey profile? Owen Nolan? Chris Simon?

Thank you for responding. I’m looking forward to the next profile!
Mike Babcock is an utter piece of crap for doing what he did to Mo at the end. I was at AAC for his last ever home game. One of the greatest moments I’ve ever witnessed in my life.

Yeah, Babcock did some heinous things, but this has to be up there with the best of them.
