As a patient of heart failure, hearing him constantly clear his throat gives me chills. It's a damaged feedback loop where the heart is unable to pump efficiently enough to clear fluid from the lungs which results in poor oxygen absorption to the heart. His time was running out.....

In my life I have never really followed or cared about any coach, but that changed when the eccentric Coach Leach came to Texas Tech. He was so awkward in some ways but so blunt in his assessments on so many topics, for some reason I loved his very real personality. Sadly, I doubt there will be such a likeable coach in the Leach mould from here out. I will definitely miss personality and wit.

I am an Ole Miss fan, but I was also a huge Mike Leach fan - going back to his days at Texas Tech and WA State. His press conferences and practice reports were always entertaining. And one thing I cherished that he and Kiffin had brought to the rivalry was to rid it of the silly name-calling and School-Up-North B.S. The rivalry was still there and it was still great to beat the rival, but in the end, those guys were friends and didn't cater to that segment of our respective fan bases. I miss Mike. Uh wrong . Regular doctor visits are how you die. God people are so brainwashed. The truth is out there. You can find stories from a guy whom used to work as the financal treasurer for a major hospital . He said he ended up having to resign because he realized the hospital was a business whom thrived off of death and illness . You can also find many stories from various people an example of one is a boy about 17 was on life support and the hospital said he wouldn't survive and they recommended pulling the plug since he was an organ donor and they had a patient who was waiting on him to die to take his organs . Well the family agreed all but the father. The father said he wanted to wait a few more days . The hospital basically said there is no point , and they aren't asking anymore to pull the plug they are now saying they are pulling the plug cause they need to free up space and not waste it on someone who is going to die plus his organs are needed. The father refused and said , your not killing my son . He then proceeded to go to his car, grab a rifle came back to his sons hospital room and threated to kill anyone who pulled the plug. So of course cops were called and when cops showed up there was a stand off and while they were negotiating with the father to drop the gun and surrender , the boy woke up . The boy woke up and ended up making a full recovery all cause the father, but the father sill ended up doing a year in prison even tho he was right and his actions saved his sons life. People actually have the audacity to still Defend the laws , police and hospitals. You people are incredibly brainwashed and don't realize the enemy and the only enemy and the source of everyone's suffering has been right under our nose this whole time.

I caught a few minutes of this game on Thanksgiving Day. When the cameras showed Leach on the sideline, I was shocked at how bad he looked. I hadn't heard that he had been fighting pneumonia, but to me I could tell that he had some very serious health issues going on. With all due respect to Coach Leach, his complexion I can only describe as cadaverous. His face was puffy, probably as a result of steroids he was prescribed to fight the pneumonia. It makes me wonder whether the pneumonia was masking heart failure or whether, when Coach started experiencing symptoms of the heart attack, he chalked it up to the pneumonia and shrugged it off. He was one of the best, gone too soon. Rest in peace, Coach Leach.

That cough... As someone that has been in medicine for 20 years, I am sitting here watching and trying to assess. The cough could be a sign of heart failure, which could ultimately cause fatal dysrhythmia. I bet there were other signs as well, but a man like Leach does not seem to be one that would go to a doctor if he thought something really bad was happening. He reminds me of the type that would just say, if I cannot live the way that I wanna, I do not want to live.

@@militantnormal428 Don’t doubt any of that. What I do know is that Head Coaches in a Power 5 conference are psycho paths. They married that job before their spouse & before they marry their spouse there is an understanding that the spouse comes second. You miss birthdays, kid plays, anniversaries, proms, a ton. Not saying it’s right or wrong, but it’s how it is. Point being, these head coaches aren’t walking away voluntarily. Just isn’t happening. MS State beat writer went on record Monday & said after the UGA game, he asked Leach if he was ok bc he couldn’t breathe, kept hacking, & skin color was gray. He admitted the university tried to get him to take some time off, but he refused. Well, of course he refused. Hot seat rumors are rampant. MS State HAD to of known this. If little ole me in NC, who watches EVERY Mike Leach press conference, is cringing having to watch them bc it’s so uncomfortable to see him struggle so much, then MS State should’ve seen it a milion times over. A guy drinks a little too much & wants to drive home. A true friend says, “man, out of a good conscience, I can’t let you do drive.” Even though the guy swears he’s ok, you don’t let him do it. You don’t give him an option to drive. No different here. It’s not an option. Go see what’s wrong. And I don’t want to hear about “well they’d have to still pay him if they made him get help and forced him out.” You were gonna pay him anyway when you fired him if he had lost 2 more games, so what’s the difference. I’m not saying MSU is liable or the Leach family should sue. Ultimately, it’s on Leach. But it’s kind of like Joe Paterno. Altogeth they’re not responsible, they could’ve done more.

At what point do you step in and say, “hey, coach can’t breathe, can’t get through a sentence without a lung exploding from a cough, and has ash gray skin. Sad in hindsight, the coughing is one symptom of cardiac issues with labored breathing which you can see in this video 😭

I'm sorry guys but all these '"expert" opinions of Coach Leach's health are very annoying. You'd think the man dropped dead right after this news conference. He died a full two weeks later. If he was so obviously ill as the comments suggest I'm sure someone close to him would of made sure he rec'd immediate medical attention. That said, the constant coughing and throat clearing is quite obvious and even Coach himself commented on it. However, we've all experienced these symptoms without being "at death's door". To be clear: I'm not suggesting he wasn't ill - because he was - but what gets me is everyone acting like a medical expert based on the video evidence . . and of course the fact he died two weeks later. 🤔 Any of these dire predictions BEFORE Coach Leach died? That is what I'd like to hear. Everyone is an after-the-fact expert . . 🙄 In any event, I am glad this terrific coach and unique man went out on a big rivalry win. 🙂

Too late now but his color is bad here along with throat clearing. Tell tale sign of problems. So sorry he is gone.

What is wrong with you? The man just passed away and you're on here worrying about getting players from his team. This is not about football. It's about Coach Leach. Have some respect.
