The thing that bothers me is you never heard Redd Foxx bring down Richard Pryor for coming into the game and taking it to the next level or having writers.He's spreading negativity while all the time saying he's proud of the person he's criticizing negatively! I enjoyed this interview. Mike Epps is one of my favorite comedians. Stomach hurting laughter from him. -no shade but- I have yet to get that laughter from watching Kevin Hart. I grew up on that Martin era. Which made me appreciate the greats like Eddie Murphy and Richard Pryor. Comedians that have and still make me cry from laughing so much.

That is one of the best interviews I've watched in a short time. Always loved Mike Epps work but knowing his thoughts outside of the jokes means a lot to me and my pursuit in the entertainment industry as a songwriter and rap artiste. I see that they leaders of the industry calls the shot as they should but honestly they set us against each other to maintain order. And I love Mike Epps message this interview. From beginning to the end. One message that stuck to me the most was when he said, no matter how much money you make "This is NOT your business".

I agree with Mike Epps about the instagram thing, My Epps has 771,000 followers. But a guy like DC Young Fly has 2million. Instagram gives guys that are not funny and extra push in there career.

I believe they, as in " The industry " picks a black comedian and catapults them to super stardom to showcase that they are given everyone a fair share. People don't care about " real " talent anymore. They only care about how many people are following you. When people express strong opinions about their craft. Kevin Hart is funny but he is only a big star because he is everywhere you turn. A new movie every 6 months, on TV every week and doing things like the NBA celebrity all star game. Just because he is on everything doesn't mean he is the best. There just isn't much else out there in the way of comedy besides Kevin Hart. If Dave Chapelle and Kevin Hart dropped a movie, a TV show and did a live show at the same time as each other, Chapelle is going to beat out Hart. Why? Because the comedy fans know that Chapelle is one of the greats. He didn't need to be on TV every few hours to be the best. Hart is funny but he isn't a legend like he thinks he is. He isn't on the level of guys like Eddie Murphy.

Mike Epps is the realest. He is mad funny, pure comedian. Kev is funny as well, but all comedians r gonna be a little jealous because of his success Kevin is a pure comedian. Everytime I see him, interviews, radio shows, celebrity basketball games, he is always funny.

I'm disappointed at Mike's comments about Kevin, Why do we feel that we have to put other peoples lights out in order for ours to shine? He doesn't like that Kevin uses social media to promote himself but Mike also has a twitter page! I love Mike Epps and wish he could get over this thing he has with Kevin because it isn't warranted! InfoOnly2U I don't think it's a ploy, Kevin as we ALL have seen is working harder than ANY comedian we know. He clearly is so "funny and business smart" that Mainstream has drafted him and his talent and placing money behind his career. You have to be happy for him unless he's stealing your material to get to the top! If this isn't the case, I have to wonder "who or what" is behind these Black Comedians who want to tear Kevin down and add that they love him at the same time!

Patrice O'Neal was my dude, That being said Mike Epps takes over a movie! His improv skills are becoming increasingly legendary. Kevin Hart is not funny, but he's MONEY! Big ups to Eddie Griffin, Sinbad Arnez J also!

Whenever something goes mainstream people are quick to call it wack. Chapelle would've had the exact same problem if he stuck around long enough during the Chapelle Show years. When you retire in your prime like Barry Sanders people make you a legend and you don't receive the full range of hate. Kevin Hart was HILARIOUS when his first stand up came out and everybody knew it. Now that he's working hard and putting out a movie every month people want to act like he was NEVER funny? Stop it....

Yea he's funny but nobody wants to see him star in all these movies. Maybe as comedic relief like Think Like a Man. But i understand he's building his brand but he shouldnt be crowned as the best comic out right now. I think thats why people get mad when it comes to Hart. Just as if somebody came out and said Drake is the greatest rapper every. There's just so many iconic things that he hasn't done for him to be crowned king ya know?

Chappelle was considered Main stream... Just as Eddie Murphy, Bill Cosby, Martin etc etc.... "Wack" was never used with any of them

ummmmm Eddie Murphy was called wack numerous times in the 90's. After Coming to America, he fell off for a good 5 years until Nutty Professor brought him back.

I'm neutral regarding whether hip hop killed back kids or saved. I think it did both. So many rappers now days who do nothing but talk about violence in each of their songs, and teenagers look up to this kind of music. The same teenagers who went to jail for catching a body about a week ago (Lyric reference). But then there's uplifting rap songs that inspire us to move forward in life in a positive way. Some rappers feel the need to talk about the drug game as if their the reason it exist. Talk about how being involved in selling drugs can ruin a life and how one can move on from it, despite it being hard b/c one has to provide for his or her's family.

Completely agree.. but it sounds like your saying the only rap music is out is the "trap" or hood music about selling.. and that is not true.. I wish people would stretch their interest and look for the positive and influential type of rap music .. I love hip hop music period! Bc there is so many different types

Problem is some people who don't live it glorify selling drugs like that's all they know selling young/naive listeners a false dream and there are some who actually live that life and are literally expressing their self through music. There are definitely Hip Hop rappers/artists who make uplifting music but it either doesn't catch the airwaves cos it's not a good song or it is but just doesn't get the recognition it deserves. Plus it looks like promoting certain images seems more of a priority than promoting positive motivational imagery and music. The most important thing behind any action is the motive... Why?

There are lot more worse things out there than Hip Hop.Actually, without hip hop, we really did not have a voice.Hip hop is not the problem the disproportion of our education , legal ,racial system has done more damage than Hip Hop could ever do.
