Not at all man Mike dean is a real musician and mixing/mastering engineer. He’s on a completely different level than any rapper. He actually makes music. Rappers are cool but most don’t actually make their music. You really can’t even make the comparison.

@@MrCHI2cool I meant that generally he is unknown amongst the casual populace despite having produced one of the most important trap albums of the 2010's. Of course he is very well known amongst producers and music nerds, he is like Max Martin, responsible for dozens of succesful songs and yet I doubt people that are outside of the music discussion would know who he is. People know Kanye and Travis but generally not Mike despite having a major role on those artists projects.

I've noticed that there are a lot of successful musicians who do philosophize about art but the topics they choose talk about and they way they talk about them is always really different than non-musicians.
It’s incredible to see how much recognition Mike Dean has received recently. Producers in his position have played a huge role in having their sounds shine more then the artist nowadays. Simply Amazing.

True that, to be on that kind of level takes a lot of sacrifice, a lot of lonely nights in the studio no bitches just a lot of smoke, a lot of weed, and a lot of Red Bulls.

Although this probably won’t draw as many eyes as some of the people you’ve had on recently, it was easily one of my favourite interviews you’ve done. Would love to see more producers/mixers/engineers on. Not only is Mike super interesting in his own right, the insights he could give into some of my favourite artists were fascinating.
