Nerdy comment alert but just wanna give a big shout out to whomever edits and mixes the audio for this podcast. I get a few extra chuckles every episode from the cuts, Picture in Picture, or just the “Block” animation. And, unlike almost every other podcast on KZread I don’t have to crank my volume to hear the dialogue. Thank you for knowing how to use compression. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I think I laugh harder at those things you pointed out than the guest or Neal most of the time. The dialogue is always clever, but not necessarily laugh-out-loud funny. Probably due to the subject matter most of the time. Those edits on the other hand usually catch me off guard or I see it coming a mile away and it's like a warm blanket.

On the off chance either of you guys see this, Im obsessed with stand up. I re watch comedy specials all the time. I still watch What I Should Have Said Was Nothing every now and then and I watched 3 Mics a number of times during covid. Your material, much like this podcast, is therapy.

I know your comment wasn't directed to me, but I wanted to say how much I identify with what you said here. The more substantial comics (no offense to other styles, honestly some Jeselnik, Murphy, Silverman- I'll love them too) meaning the ones pulling from a more emotional experience like Birbiglia, Brennan, Pryor, Hicks, Tomlinson, Burnham, Carlin in my opinion they stick with me, I come back to the same specials and I laugh and think. It's like a meal instead of a snack. I just enjoyed seeing a common element here. Gotta mention Chappelle, Rock, Louie, Minchin, and Izzard. Wright, Dangerfield, lol. I promise there's a few I don't enjoy

In regard to Netflix putting a single person on the thumbnail instead of the ensemble, it's not because a star wanted sole billing. Netflix has found that people click on things more often if 1 or 2 people are on the thumbnail, and usually if they're in close up. That's why there's so many thumbnails that look like that.

Stand up is my very favorite thing in the world. Secretly, I wish I could be a stand up comedian or a comedy writer. I am totally damaged enough 😉😁 as that seems to be a qualification or prerequisite for either job. I would not want to be an actor like Bill Hader or Fred Armisen, both who are excellent. Watching stand up has been therapy for me. Robin Williams "Weapons of Self Destruction" has gotten me through some dark times. You guys are great.

Neal, you are a funny comedian that used to struggle with energy and emotions and feeling different in so many ways, which made you depressed. Now, you are a funny comedian who has spiritually awakened and sees so much further and beyond this reality. If your fans can’t evolve with you, then that’s fine. Let them leave if they need you being sad. You can’t lower your vibration to meet people who want it to be lower. That’s nuts! By the way, the sooner you really get in touch with yourself as a highly sensitive Empath, the better because that is the final key for you. I highly recommend taking my Empath quiz as it will let you know where you are in the Empath Spectrum because we’re not all created equally. I’m an off the charts Psychic Physical Empath, I feel in my body what others feel, exactly how they feel it. We are rare, you’re not like me, but I would guess right bellow that mark, processing and feeling more on the energetic and emotional levels. You’re definitely an Empath, bet many of the questions for Autistism are similar to Empaths 🤣. Wish more mainstream medicine would get with the program. My website is the same name as my channel and it has a quiz that will tell you where you fall on the Empath Spectrum. It’s free and takes 10 min. 💜💜💜 Infiniti PS If you ever want to connect about this, or with me or have a podcast about being an Empath, please reach out.
