To be fair morphe really wasn’t bad at the time. At that point it was cheaper and arguably better quality. At some point morphe changed formulas, got cheap(quality wise not price), and focused on problematic influencers.

Way back when Tati reviewed the Lash Paradise mascara, I really saved a lot of money since it was expensive for me and here in our country generally and I had bad reactions to previous mascaras. And I was so happy it did not disappoint. Been my holy grail for 6-7 years now. Money is a very big factor for others that's why honesty is so important.

Sometimes I compare fast fashion to this new theme of fast entertainment. Same look, cheaper material, worse morals. Same look, less quality, worse morals. Idk, I’m not comparing it to awful fast fashion websites that exploit labor, I’m just comparing the basis the fast fashion and fast beauty entertainment. I don’t support nearly as many beauty youtubers anymore, but damn their content looks hella quality compared to a lot of these 1 minute try on videos.

I don't know, there's something about Mikayla that I don't like but I don't understand why people, especially so called adults can't due diligence with their money. I’ve been watching her TikTok’s since it happened just out of morbid curiosity….I dunno, maybe it’s my age but I feel like if her response had happened back in the day, her fans wouldn’t be going for it. But also, I truly don’t know where she gets her extreme hubris to completely blow it off and pretend she doesn’t give a single fuck. It doesn’t sit right with me. Listening to her stans boost her up, cheer her on and tell her she deserves her success….it makes me sick. There are so many smaller influencers out there who would kill for even one chance to make it like she has, but they refuse to sacrifice their integrity. That’s WHY we watch beauty reviews!!!!! Because it feels like a recommendation from a best friend. She’s ruined that. And she does not care.

So when first hearing about the situation, I was thinking "Oh a really honest reviewer is lying for some reason even though she has a promising career? Maybe she was led astray and just got over her head. Hopefully this will be a lesson for her in future sponsorships." Then when she posted more stuff without even apologising, I was thinking "Okay she isn't using this as a lesson but for clout, I have no sympathy."

This actually raises a lot of red flags of other big tik tok creators...blatantly being sponsored....yet no mention anywhere of the sponsorship

Kristi is right besties, take reviews with a grain of salt! Whether from an influencer or customer reviews. What works or doesn't work for one person could be different for you! (Also some people just lie lol)
