I have been watching the world cup every year since the early 90s...I have never seen any of the women accelerate quite the way Mikaela does. In this run, that upper-mid section showed how dangerous she can be in a very short number of turns...BOOM and then she’s gained a full second on the competition in the span of 8-10 gates. I feel so lucky to have the opportunity to watch a unique talent like her, especially since her career has followed directly at the end of Lindsey Vonn’s. Two women have torn the ski record books apart.
