Mikael Åkerfeldt Interview - The House of Zazz

Музыка

On September 20, 2011, Sam "Blammymatazz" Hatch, host of the Hartford, CT metal radio program "The House of Zazz", sat down with Opeth mastermind Mikael Åkerfeldt at the Webster Theater before the band's second performance on their current US "Heritage" tour.
Mikael discusses the difficulties of being away from home, first show jitters, the recording process behind "Heritage", uncool 80's stage moves, death metal vocals versus clean vocals, the influence of Ronnie James Dio, and the unlikely possibility of a Bloodbath motion picture.
You can listen to Sam's show "The House Of Zazz" Tuesday nights/Wednesday mornings from midnight til three a.m. Eastern Time on 91.3 FM WWUH (in CT) and streaming live via www.wwuh.org.

I took an afternoon a week ago to listen to all of Heritage on vinyl (through an amazing,true70's 4 speaker set) and drink fine red wine. It was truly an amazing experience.

I hope the label release the version of Heritage where Mikael has to come over the fan's house and have dinner with them, because I'll be getting that.

This must be the most relaxed and nice interview ever made to an artist. Talking about Blu-ray definition with a guy who combines death metal with obscure progressive rock music in his records? How cool is that? Three thumbs up.

Wow, you mean there was an actual Connecticut radio station that even acknowledged Opeth playing in Ct.? Sorry for me not being aware of 91.3 till now, but with the complete garbage radio stations we have here in Ct. I have completely abandoned radio. I think my breaking point was hearing the station that calls itself metal but plays nothing but "pop" metal music. WCCC is the biggest joke of them all.
