Mijas Pueblo Spain Fantastic Town Summer 2023 Update | Costa del Sol | Málaga [4K]
Spectacularly situated in mountainous countryside, Mijas Pueblo is a traditional Andalucian "white village" whose main economic income comes from tourism.
The beautiful little village of Mijas, considered as one of the jewels of the Costa del Sol, nestles comfortably in the mountainside at 400 meters above sea level about 10km from the coast. Of the ten thousand population, there are so many foreign and English speaking residents in and around the village that the Town Hall has a very helpful Foreigner's Department.
When you wander through the narrow cobbled streets of this Andalucian village, you can understand what has attracted foreigners over the years. Many artists and writers have made it their home, enjoying the benefits of an excellent all year round climate, without being part of the busier, more commercial coastal towns just 7 kilometres down the mountain side. Despite its huge popularity with tourists, Mijas Pueblo has somehow managed to retain much of its traditional Andalucian way of life, the locals displaying their unabashed passion for all things festive and an unmistakable relaxed outlook.
Mijas Pueblo is located away from the coast and has a wide variety of restaurants and places to eat, including authentic, traditional Spanish restaurants as well as international ones. Fresh seafood is brought from the coast on a daily basis.

Refreshing and relaxing area
I love Mijas... I am on Vancouver Island, but I left a part of my heart in Mijas... I miss many friends from Mijas and Fuengirola. My former shop showing at 18.14... I did a lot of work on that shop.. The front and side double doors had probably 20 layers of paint on them and I used a blowtorch to burn off all those many layers of paint. Then we used a wire brush to bring out the grain of the wood and varnished it. My shop only sold our own hand made leather goods as well as other local hand made items such as silver jewelry, candles, & stone work.

Beautiful town. This may seem like a silly question but can you find parking in this town or are taxis easily found to go and leave?

Hi and good day! Yes, there are parking spaces along the street and there is also paid parking where you just have to pay 1€ for the whole day. There is also bus coming to and from Fuengirola. There is also taxi but that's the expensive option. Thanks for asking!
