I have suffered from migraines for over 40 years. I get a migraine about once or twice a month. I get the flashing light in one eye before it starts. Sometimes vertigo comes with it. I feel like I got stabbed with a screwdriver in my eye. Light and sounds bother me. I have to cover my eyes and sometimes put an ice pack on my skull. For all those people out there who suffer with migraines, my heart goes out to you. I am now in my 60's and it doesn't get easier.
The frustration is exacerbated when your medical provider gaslights you because they can't see it through a blood test or scan.

AMEN TO THAT! I HAVE HAD DOCTORS TELL ME ITS ALL IN MY HEAD
I get migraines everyday and this video is so true. People say you use it as an excuse to miss work or not go to social functions when they have no idea that the pain you are in is excruciating. People have no empathy or feeling for others

Me to years but it's changes no headache pain shoulders one shoulder or both armpits area still throbs etc
I actively flinched when the collegue turned the lights on in the board room. So glad I can work in low light.
This is very good, Migraine Canada. It is the blunt and awful reality. I could not stop myself from crying as I watched, as it is my life. Thank you for producing this.

I also cried all the way
This felt so real. The stigma and lack of understading is the worst part. I often feel ashamed and like there is something weak about me. 😢
Thanks for creating this- we need to get more awareness out… no one can ever fully understand unless they truly suffer.

Truly impactful video. I'm not a mother, but I saw myself so well in the roles of wife and employee as a woman living with chronic migraine. Thank you Migraine Canada and Abbvie.

I've got I chronic everyday upperbody no headache nowadays
Currently struggling from suicidal thoughts due to chronic migraines I’ve been experiencing for quite some time now. I just want my pain and suffering to end. I get the ones with the aura and the debilitating pain afterwards. I don’t want to end my life but I’m sure God will understand. Tired of trying different remedies and praying. To all the migraine sufferers, keep going. It’s tough. Im rooting for you. ❤ As for myself, I give up. This is something only God can heal ✌🏾

I feel the same way. I get suicidal all the time from migraines and to make it worse no one shows any compassion or empathy
It’s like your stuck in this place doing things at arms reach from the moment you wake up. While the world moves around you. While everyone is so productive. Your in survival mode all day, all week, all month for years. But its your brain and you don’t want to seem incapable. You have anxiety….your double checking everything, trying to sound engaged even though your vision is blurry and head fog makes you just want to be alone.
Thanks so much for making this film for us all ! Luv the falling down depicted as that's how I feel in so many ways.
And the worst part is the migraine headaches go away only after puking out the contents and emptying your stomach. It sucks

Thanks for bringing this up so accurately and honest. It’s my routine, felt so authentic and got touched how everything matches with what I go through every single day!

Very good and informative. Thank you Migraine Canada. It was very difficult going to work and looking after other people when I was in the throes of a migraine. The worst!
On day 2 of a migraine. Prayers for all who suffer.
When people ask me how bad my migraine are I always tell them the following: "Even if Jesus, Michael Jackson, the president and my celebrity crush would stand in front my front door I could not get up out of bed during my migraine attacks."
ok so ill just say this, this video showed how someone is managing to cope with migraines its quite accurate... what it didn't show is when your migraine peaks and you become totally desparate for help.
I am so tired of how everyone undermines you when you have a migraine. They are so ignorant
Thank you so much for this …
THIS!! Thank you so much for this video ❤️🙏🙌
😭😭😭😭😭😭this made me cry. I hate not being able to explain
I used to get them as a kid and while at school. The nurse in the school didn't take it serious. I'm in my 50s now and its still a struggle. I get the headaches almost daily. The only thing that work's is prescription migraine medicine. The shots work the best. I worry if i lose my insurance. I tried to toughen up tonight and deal with the throbbing pain, but it turned into a full blown horrible migraine. There is no way i could drive, work or fuction at all. I just find my self thinking death would bring relief. I'm terrified because my son gets alot as well. I worry if im not here for him what may happen. I notice that eating triggers them most times as well.
This hit hard, they started 6 years ago, once every couple months, then once a month, then once a month for days... now years later I am getting them 6-8 times a month and it took a doctor at a WALK IN clinic I went to to get a doctors note for work to refer me to a neurologist, not even my primary care did this... over 10 different medications and nothing has worked. Now I am at a new company and a year later I am still dealing with this... Used all my sick time my first year I am running on MDA sick days with no pay, and just about to start college just to get a AA and BA in IT so I can do a work from home job... It's eating me alive, any work from home entry job is customer service and you can't do that with a migraine. There's so many issued I face with little help... I even thought about going on disability but here in WA it's $1300 a month.... how can I survive on that and pay for school
I'm having migraine right know I am fedup because of this pain I want to give up
Well done
When I feel a migraine coming on I like to be alone and get into bed with no light I take paracetamol,I get numbness and tingling on my left side, including my lips and tounge I can't get my words out properly and I can't see, this has made me have many days off work my manager isn't very sympathetic I'm frightened off going anywhere I fear one will come again
At a past job, I called in with my migraine and just took the heat from my manager. I was not even able to get up.
Ya exactly the same problems even I face😔😣my head will be like🤯
