    I have always been told that the drive roller tension should be allowed to slip to prevent bird nesting in the event of burn back. I do agree however that it shouldn't slip easily. I usually make mine so that I can't stop it by pinching it with my bare fingers, but I can stop it by grabbing it with my MIG pliers right against the contact tip. Also on the spool tension I go a little tighter than you showed to prevent backlash. In all I enjoyed the video, it had some great info in it. I understand that each person has his/her own preferences, and I am by no means saying that you are wrong on any part. If it works for you then carry on.

    InkSlinger1337 I would buy the bird nesting and burn back strategy on aluminum wire, but I've never heard that before. Thanks for sharing and please keep watching and commenting!

    Looking for advice, I have an older Betamig 200 with weak output, I bought this welder because my friend has the same model and it was awesome. Mine can barely weld 3/16 on high set to 9( the highest setting) my friends will do 1/4 " on low. I checked the diodes and the bridge rectifier and they checked good. I have not checked the capacitors. Any ideas that would help would be great, I can't afford to buy another welder.

    My wire fed welder sounds like it's actuating when I pull the trigger to feed, but rollers are not turning and no wire comes out. Any suggestions?

    +Jordan Watkin If your dials are the "snap into position" type, make sure they are properly in position by moving them a bit and locking them in. Then check your work (ground) cable. Also check to make sure your contact tip is not heavily worn, or you will not get spark. Finally, make sure all of you connections at the gun are sound. Hope that helps.

    I use the "tighten the tension until you can curl the wire against a wood block approach" with my Everlast welder. there are quite a few videos out there describing how to do this.

    The motor that turns the wire feed on my Jobsmart 125 doesn't even seem to be attempting to turn when i pull the trigger on the gun. I'll try to turn it with a lot of tension or little, or even without the roller on the drive shaft. It does nothing. Can someone help me with this? the shaft doesn't seem to be locked up because i can still move it by hand.

    Maybe better to wire up an thick extension cable for power and bring the welder closer to work. I did that with my Everlast welder. I think it is too long to push mig wire through 20 feet through the mig cable. Either use an extension cable or get a spool gun or a push pull gun.

    +b1zzl3 I would need more info to be helpful, but if it's only 6 months old, I would see if it is still under warrantee and take it to a Lincoln repair shop.

    turns out the the cable welded its self to the liner i called Lincoln electric and they said the gun/cable is not covered under warranty its considered consumable i feel that they should have replaced it i understand it is a wear out part but in less than a year next time i will get a miller

  • @WeldFever

    @WeldFever

    +b1zzl3 Can the liner simply be rep[laced to solve your problem? If so, that is a simple fix and probably not too expensive.

    Hey weld fever, i got a lincoln mig weldpak 100, it sat in my shop for a few years and was covered in dust, i since then cleaned it all off. I can not get a spark, i even tried to tac on the clamp and still no spark, i didnt think the relay had been popped since everything else works, i had it set on D2 and trying some beads on a cutting edge. I dont want to take it to the dealer if i dont have to but i cant find the problem with why theres no spark... Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Bud.

    Try blowing it our with compressed air, and then make sure your dials are "snapped" into place. Sometimes they can get stuck between settings and the machine won't work.

    I try to blow out my everlast welders every 6 months or so. This is especially important if you do a lot of grinding as that grinding dust gets everywhere.
