As a moderately disabled builder I find researching to be one of the more relaxing aspects of modeling. I have a TBI and spinal injury, and as a casual modeler all my life the doctors at the local VA Hospital not only recommended model building as a physical and neurological therapy, they helped create a statewide (CA) Veterans group that swaps models and parts, and has our own E-Contests. I got the Eduard Mig-21MF recently, along with a bunch of Eduard aftermarket parts in exchange for some paints I wound up not using like I thought I would. As a just barely post-Vietnam vet I do have a keen interest in that era's aircraft, and have plans to do mine as a VPAF bare metal aircraft. Your video is actually part of my "hours of research" put into this project.

@@ScaleModelAssassin My main concern is finding a good bare metal paint. years ago when Testor's had their Buffing Metallizers on the market I would have been able to airbrush aluminum and stainless steel. I loved that lacquer look you could get from that paint. I've been looking at paints like Alclad and I use Vallejo acrylics almost exclusively. Their metallics aren't bad. Another choice that has worked are the Tamiya rattle cans: I love the look of TS-30, Silver Leaf. Especially on larger bombers like the B-17's and B-29's. I have a couple of good reference books coming on the Mig-21, and a couple of guys in the group are suggesting it wouldn't be a sin to even do it camo.
Great build 👍

Haha getting edgier by the day. Thanks!
I’m super offended that you didn’t seem offended about that image. This kind of insensitivity can’t be tolerated! 🤣 outstanding job once again man. That paint work you did is awesome 🔥 That level of detail on a 1:72 kit is hard to achieve.

That decapitated tiger would have made a great decal , Enjoyed the video 👍

Thanks! There was a decal for the tiger head but there were a couple reasons why I didnt use it. 1. it was so small, you couldnt really tell what it was. 2. I couldnt find any reference photos that had the tiger head AND the Eduard knight, so since the knight was a lot more visible, I opted for that. I did really want to use the tiger head but I decided to keep the plane looking accurate.
Very good! Please,1/48 Kinetic Mirage IIIE
Hello there! Would you please mind telling me if that there was any info and photo about the 7003 number MiG? My dad served at that plane as mechanic back in 1985-1987. Thank you in advance!
