It's important to point out the major difference between Midwestern/Cincinatti Chili and what the rest of the US calls Chili: The former is not a stew to be eaten on it's own, it's a sauce that goes with various things like pasta, potatoes, etc.

@@sarahspindler2914 there's chili that you eat in a bowl, with beans, tomato, meat, ect. And then there's chili you put on hot dogs, con carne, which is basically meat sauce but seasoned with chili powder, and it it not truly a chili dog if it has beans in it. Looks pretty good on spaghetti!

Well, I tried it out for the first time and wasn't impressed. Btw, I love chili dogs and chili cheese fries. I just didn't care for the spaghetti/cheddar/chili combo thing. What's more interesting is that this dish originated with Macedonian immigrants but if you look up Macedonian food it's nothing like this at all. Methinks that the 1st Generation just put something together because they had limited options. LOL

I've grown up on this stuff all my life, so far 20 years. I Absolutely LOVE IT!!! I finally decided, after most of my life staying with the 4-Way, to try the 5-Way, which was adding beans to the onions that I was used to in my 4-Ways. Just Phenomenal. I'm never going back to 4-Ways with just onions. Skyline Chili Is The BEST!!!!

As a proud Cincinnatian Skyline is my favorite chili parlor. It's not gross and the cheese melts on it's own with from the heat of the chili .

Take it from a person who eats at skyline more than a few times a month (me), ITS SO GOOD OMG. What’s weird is the fries are literally better than a place that is known FOR THEIR FRIES. I would recommend it if you are visiting Ohio, or moved to Ohio! It’s normally always a great environment and everyone is super nice!

Except it really isn’t chili. It’s a Macedonian meat sauce. The guy who brought it to Cincinnati just didn’t have a translation, so he called it chili because it was sort of close. It really is unlike anything you can find anywhere outside of Cincinnati. At least in America.

I was just randomly searching up Chili Mac places on KZread and now I'm so excited to try this place after finding out there's a few locations in Florida

I'm from New England and went to Kentucky for work related reasons. I was taken to a Skyline Chili location in Cincinnati and fell in love with the food. Ohio has the best chili hands down.

Dixie chili in newport ky is better. spicier and leaner than skyline. it also predates skyline by about 20 years.

Yep, It is Cincinnati Chili but it has a big fan following nationwide, you can find the meat sauce in most national chains. I found it at Ohio State on High Street in college and still get it down here in Florida, I just ordered 8 Cans for the pantry. It is great for a football Saturday!

This is the first food video that made me salivate. I love chili and if I’m out that way I’m definitely hitting this spot. And the reviewer, so pretty, such a lovely smile.

Just be aware that this is actually a Greek meat sauce with middle eastern spice notes like cinnamon, so not like Yankee or Texas chili with their Tex-Mex spices.

My aunt's from Cincinnati and she makes Cincinnati chillie and oooooomg awesome....

I love it, some say it must be an acquired taste because i have seen first timers either love it or hate it and there seems to be no in between

My friend from Louisiana moved up here to Ohio and he always thought this place looked nasty or weird and I finally got him to try it and it’s his favorite now

I always get it without the cheese, which I can't stand. It's one of their menu options so I think a lot of people do.

This place is just so fun!! Either you love it or hate it. No middle ground 😊

i am from Cincinnati and i love Skyline Chili! my favorite thing to get there are cheese coneys (basically chili dogs with cheese) with no onions, no mustard, light on the chili and heavy on the cheese and a MUG root beer for the drink! Skyline has the best Cincinnati style chili i know of, Gold Star is in second place, but i would not recommend Camp Washington chili, that stuff is literal soup, mostly water, very little meat

Hey, I'm from Ohio. Never heard of it. And the title is a bit misleading, Cincinnati is barely the Midwest anymore, lol. It's pretty much the South. Which is why I've probably never heard of it, I live in Cleveland.

This is only a thing in Ohio lol. I've never seen this in Minnesota.

Tri-State area. Cincinnati is located in southwestern Ohio and the outer loop (I-275) dips into Indiana and Kentucky. So, you'll see Skylines there. And they go pretty north, too.

Definitely a Cincinnati, Ohio thing. We have Skylines in Indiana but most of the people I know hate it. I wouldn't classify this style of spaghetti as a Midwestern staple. Just one city... in one state... 👍🏻

I would say that the style of food, as in chili and cheese on top of spaghetti, is what is a staple of the midwest. Although I do have to say skyline is my favorite. Native born Cincy here.

Where I grew up, in northern kentucky about 10 minutes to cincy it was THE staple, the local skyline was the place to be, the hangout, the after game meal.

Pissy non-ohioans getting disgusted by Skyline is the most annoying thing I've had to deal with. Don't knock it till you try it.

Stem/Long Stem/Longer Stem/UltimateStem As someone with family ties to Ohio but who grew up in Richmond Va... I didn't try Skyline til a few years ago. Once I did I was hooked, I actually threw a tantrum in my local Kroger when I found out they weren't carrying the stuff temporarily. I seriously wish they would open a Chili Parlor in Richmond, Virginia.

Aly is super cute. Grew up in Brooklyn. And boy can you get some chili with that mountain of cheese ?! LOL

I will never understand the chili spaghetti thing lmao, but chili cheese fries is something we can all get behind.

@brian morris Texas BBQ isn't as good as NC? Depends on if you like beef or pork. Nobody does beef BBQ better than Texas. Having said that, it's ALL good; KC, Texas, and the Carolinas all have outstanding BBQ. BTW, West Coast Tri-tip is pretty f'ng awesome too.
