Sad looking back @ this particular game & too interview in the end with Jerry Seltzer. How it appeared even then he sadly knew the demise of his late Father's creation was so near! This was after all what Fall of '73! Only months later Derby be sadly no more.

@@meiyue64 Yes sadly I know. Worse not much press if @ all was done dedicated to Jerry Seltzer either.

I didn't care much for this game because it was so evident they were trying to get over Villenueva (sp?). She was big, but that was about it. Even though Vallow tried her best, she still couldn't get her over.

Agree with you she might had developed into a star much later. Though after all she was still a rookie & needed a lot of work. Joanie needed a backup girl though with no Forbes, Earp, or Niebauer you go with what you have. Remember too Sherri Eric was also still new in her 1st year as well. Debbie Cho was reported to supposed to had join the Pioneers don't know why she wasn't in the lineup then. Oh well just another thought lost in the history of Roller Derby!

@@georgegong6813 George: Didn't know that Earp ever skated with Joanie! I only remember her when she was skating with Sandy Dunn! What had happened to Forbes?

@@donniehagy5125 If you can catch that old episode of "Sports Action Profile" there was a very good documentary produced on Joanie Weston. There was a locker room scene where a few Skaters were briefed by Weston not to take any whips from Janet Earp. That she has a hand injury & cannot give whips! Just then Janet Earp comes into the picture only for Darlene Forbes to get upset & a bit defensive telling Joanie she is always available & puts herself into such position to do so though their teammates for whatever reason always seem to forget! LOL! So funny another favorite of mine Rose Duran later says "What if we forget" Joanie just lightens up the mood by saying they're be a team free for all then she guess! I recalled Earp on the Pioneers I think it was 1972. Summer of 1973 @ least games in San Francisco I didn't see either Earp or Forbes skate. I don't believe either skated in the 1973 season as evidence by this game.

@donniehagy5125 During the year 1966 When Weston was the pivot skater for the SF Bombers her key backup skaters was Judy Arnold and Janet Earp!!!!!
