Dutch guy here. My grandmother says it too (in Dutch ofc) and I’ve never heard it anywhere else. I didn’t know it actually is a saying. 😂

Best advice I ever got from my grandfather was when I was leaving after a party and bringing home a half full bottle of booze he says, "Make sure you put dat in da trunk da cops will call dat an open container if you have it up front." Thanks grandpa for your sound advice.

My friend back in the day was living with his grandparents ( he was about 19-20 at the time). He was growing a pot plant under a lamp. His supper Christian grandma asked him what it was, he said "oh it's a raspberry bush" she was so proud of him.

For those who want to call a pot plant something that it almost resembles, spider flower/cleome has almost identical foliage. Lupines also have similar leaves. Plant a marigold with it to explain away the odor.

It made me smile to see that book. It's rather familiar. My mom's copy has fallen apart and she keeps it in a bag to keep it together.
On Sunday they'd be clipping coupons out of the Sunday paper. Other than that, it's perfect. LOL

It's a pity that these types of bits weren't more common 100 years ago. So much culture is preserved in comedy.

I was gonna post about that. I love these and I'm a lifetime Texan who's never lived in the Midwest, but I'm familiar with the accent because Wisconsinites make the best Texas transplants. We've got a lot of Michiganders here in Austin too.

I bet there must be equivalents in your country. I have been watching Kath and Kim for the first time, and I feel like they'd live next door to these people. Something I liked while visiting friends in South Australia was how friendly people were, especially in smaller towns.

I so needed a laugh today. I'm a grandma and my grands think I'm a little twisted. It's good to keep them wondering if your sane, keeps them on their toes. It's fun to watch them look at us like "whaaaaat?"

I grew up near Milwaukee and lived in a tourist city in Mexico for a couple, so I met people from all over. Let me tell ya, they all thought I was Canadian; even other Americans! The only ones who didn't think so were Canadians - and they didn't know where the heck I was from. 😅😅 That's how I discovered I have an accent. It’s exactly what I thought. From the second she said there was ‘brandy’ in her old fashioned. Everyone in my family is from the south, except my stepmom - she’s from Indiana and her parents are exactly like this. When I would spend time up there as a kid I was always like, ‘you guys talk a lot’. In my head of course. Cuz, being from the south, I have manners and respect for my elders. One of many many many things southerners and midwesterners have in common … But we put bourbon in our old fashioned.

Charlie reminds me of my late Grandpa Jim (who’s been gone for almost exactly five years now) throughout this video, particularly at the end. Except he and Grandma Anne would drink whiskey sours. This made me smile so much!

You’re running a little broad with yer brush there Charlie, I think yous are present’in for the folks a typical day in the life of someone the Good Lord blessed to be living on the 45th parallel, or there abouts, and of course to the nort of there. She’s been a little cold for walleyes this year so we switched to blue gills. Ain’t the same as walleye but ya know we still put food on the table.
