Sadly midnight club is now dead....thanks to GTA online......I miss playing midnight club 3 dub edition remix on my ps2 online back in 2010.....I wish they would remaster the whole series in one big collection

It was already dead before GTA V even came out... Racing games like this are dated. The series was always a niche so it wasn't worth it to keep it going. They tried to be too much like NFS and that's what killed the series. You have to keep in mind that not even half of your audience are car people when even talking about mainstream games like NFS. Midnight Club was way more complicated and hard so your potential audience already gets cut in half. And keep in mind all the other top racing games right now like Project Cars, Forza, GTS, DriveClub, The Crew,... So a new game would just go up in the masses.

"I wish they would remaster the whole series in one big collection" Considering how Rockstar tried (and failed) that with the ps2 era GTA games, i don't want them to butcher Midnight Club like that either. Also a big reason for MCs death was god-awful working conditions in Rockstar San Diego, formally known as Angel Studios. Talented game designers were quitting because of overworking, or just straight up laid off, and with enough of all that, the studio eventually collapsed and is now a thing of the past. P.S: that all happened in 2009, only a few months to a year after MCLA's release
This game was really fun at the time. I remember in 2004 playing this and it stole a good percentage of my childhood. Mostly racing my friends on the PS2. GOODTIMES
The first one was wack but after Midnight Club 2, the series took off. MC2 is a classic

PAKTRA_PRODUCTIONS WATCH_DOGS agree and I wish Fast and Furious still have that today but with Liberty Walk, Rocket Bunny, and RWB cars and all of 3 them will get the higher popularity if wasn't for Universal Pictures transformed into a WTF with the Military Equipments and Vehicles.

The game, especialy Midnigh Club LA can be one hell of challenge, if you don't upgrade your cars preformance first. I wouldn't say it is as frustrating as Dark Souls, because atleast Midnight Club is a fun game. Not to mention that we had hard games way before Dark Souls was even a thing. Devil May Cry series is a good example of hard games and even older Castlevania games are challenging.
@Rumblefan

I find the first game the hardest. The faster the car, the more nervous it gets and the slightest jump could send you doing a front flip into a building. But at the same time, you need the speed or they’ll pull away from you like a Lamborghini racing a Prius.

As a fan of each midnight club from 1-la owning every single one including the portable ones. I can say that MC3 remix was by far the best of every single game and if they remastered it today with the vinyl customization of LA it would be the best racing game on the market.

I like your reviews, you do some games we don't often see reviewed by big names. Can't wait to see more reviews of the Midnight Club games, I played them since the second and love them, and Los Angeles is IMO the best street racing game there is, including the ones from this generation. Shame you didn't play it before. I would also like to see reviews of the Need for Speed games, specially the older ones and the more... "infamous".. ones.

Yeah, they're cool. I specially like Hot Pursuit. I don't really consider those "infamous" though, like some do. I was referring to Pro Street and Undercover, although I do also like Pro Street, despite most people's opinion of it.
My dad didn't let me use his memory cards, so I lived off the default cars and had too much fun
I love with this game. I grew up with it, but I was just 4 when when it came out. Something about it's simplicity (though it's difficult to master). Great simple arcade racer with attitude/personality
You missed mentioning police missions! I love those! Also the Marauder and the Taxi bulldozer were fun af too.
You play this game thinking the mechanics are out dated and need to be buried. Then you play the sequel and realize you were very wrong.

This will always be one of my favorite arcade racers ever.
With auto captions on @3:12 it says: *Buddy you'd ride a Mormon and a poor wife...* 🤣
I remember when I would go to the children's hospital 6 years ago (I'm 18, 19 this yr) I would ask for the Xbox 360 and I played so much of the midnight club Los Angeles and would purposely get in trouble with the law, trigger pull over cutscene and drive away with the doors open. BTW congrats on almost 9k subs
4:20 (ha) The time limit seems to be a preemptive measure from the devs. I recently played through the career and there were a few times (it happened almost exclusively in London) where the one opponent in the head to head races would glitch and get very stuck somewhere. I watched their arrow not move on the map, and laughed, then drove slowly....then the timer beeped and I have 8 seconds to do 19 seconds worth of driving. Easy win at no point, apparently. Also you didn't mention the game breaking bug you can very easily run into where city champs don't spawn if you don't go back to free roam after beating the second set of group races. I went to my cell phone to do the last head to head for the second character and suddenly the champion never appeared. This happened first time around in New York then I got lucky and did it properly by accident only to get the bug again in London. Brutal.
8:51 i do.. many may not agree but i like this one and seems fun all tho i know how to drive well! Also you should do a review about that GBA version
ColourShedProductions (or anyone ) , 7:31 : Does capture the flag / colors mode carry over to other PS2 & PS3 titles especially within the context of over LAN \ Network as well as Online multiplayer ?? I'm curious about fullscreen POV multiplayer experience. ~~ All the other PS2 titles in the series are capable of LAN multiplayer and currently have third-party fan-made servers enabling Online multiplayer so it could be quite the full-screen multiplayer proposition ( not to forget the later mode on this release where the player avoids all the police while making it to checkpoints... Nine to Five mode ~ 10th race? )
Please review the other ones?

I don't know what your viewers asked for as I'm a year late to the party, but I would have liked to see a review of the whole series... Or seeing as you had avoided it, perhaps a review focused on Midnight Club Los Angeles and its origins in this one. Also, seeing as you aren't into the series, I think you should be exposed to the latest and best incarnation of the series... But I'm here and subscribed because I love Rockstar Games and RDR2 is out soon. So basically any more reviews you can give of their games will be welcome, but with smaller reviews like this one and perhaps what we'd get with Body Harvest etc, I reckon it would be better to combine 2 or 3 games into a theme when there's less to be said about each. PS Am happy to see all the GTA games as single videis though as you clearly have a love for them, which is where my own love for Rockstar Games comes from. I love every GTA game!
I remember having great fun with Smuggler's run, but mostly from seeing how bad I could damage my vehicle. Oh and Midnight Club 3 is great fun with dat customization
Intro song?
"Somebody get me an ambulance!"
Great video! But you left out one thing, since this game came out in 2000, you can actually drive to the twin towers in the New York map as this was pre-9/11. They are a little hard to spot at first since you can’t pan the camera, but they are there, both of them.
Midnight Club 3 is probably one of the two greatest games of my childhood. Morrowind is the other greatest game
i forgot what youtube ads look like..

This was my first and only midnight club game I ever played. It was fun for it's time lol
I've noticed no one has talked about the bonus cars in the game, which makes me want to play the game again to see if the bus accelerates fast than the taxi

Midtown Madness, Midtown Madness 2 and Midtown Madness 3 reviews, please ColourShed
Will you ever do the sequels?
Please review Midnight Club: LA - This is the best most recent street racing game and I really think you will like it!!
Grew up with Midnight Club 1 - 3 & NFS Underground 1, 2 . To me, Midnight Club 1 is hard to go back and play. I even remembered being turned off by not able to keep up the person when you start off as a cabbie just cause your car is super slow. Midnight Club 2 improved so much where its that and MC3 where I still go back to and play .
Do the 2nd game please.
4:45 LOL
- I don't care at all about lack of customization. Less customization is better, actually. Too much customization options in MC3 and MC:LA killed the fine-tuned races of MC and MC2, because now the game has to take into account an almost infinite number of cars and upgrades. Developers have only one way left to keep the challenge as the race cannot be fine-tuned to the current fastest car in the game anymore : a universal rubber banding system. - having to keep up with a racer to be able to launch a race is much more immersive that lauching races in a menu. - timed races add a layer of difficulty. You cannot finish the race at your leisure and learn the track when you're last because of the timer. That's why they put it in the game.
Check out the film call RedLined (In The Red), from 1999. Besides Racer X,The Fast And The Furious got some stuff from that film. Also, check out blackandgold51's channel, which his channel shows a clip from the film . Plus, there was a gang call the Midnight Club , whom took vehicles with special high performance parts and "tested " them on the Expressways in Tokyo, Japan at high speeds.
I played 1 and 2 so much on my cousins ps2 as a kid. I never got very far cause I wasn’t good at video games as a kid but I had so much fun
Still waiting for the Midnight Club 3 Dub Edition review
I grew up with Midnight Club it influenced my taste in cars Urban culture and music in that edgy Sleek late 90s Techno punk atmosphere, pure and clean... I didn't play Need for Speed underground until just recently last year and felt it was a cheap imitation of post '2 Fast 2 Furious' culture. remember midnight club came out when street racing was still Underground in magazines and VHS sizzle tapes, and was not as technically polished as the better produced underground series by EA... until DUB Edition.
I always thought it was pretty cool that you had to follow them to the start
8:47 The GBA version was terrible. I remember picking it up in 2005 or so, and I was very excited to play it, but it was just garbage. Nothing like the PS2 version.
This was the first ps2 game I played. I was impressed!
7:25 Is that the Day3/Day 12 Vectorman soundtrack? That's definitely not from Midnight Club!
Now maybe review the 2nd and 3rd games too😏
*4:51* *O o f*
Yeah, I would put in the GameShark CD and unlock all of the cars. I was also only 10 lol
I want them to remaster all of these games for phones WITh an online mode to race other players
fun fact, midnight club was a real car group from japan in the late 80's-90's that would race top speed on highways. police asked them to stop and after a few lethal crashes they agreed to stop.
MIDNIGHT CLUB 2 IS THE BEST GAME OF ALL TIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIME
Why does it have a timer? Because timed gameplay was the defacto standard for arcade style games back then, even when it made no sense or was even detrimental to the game.
