I wasn't going to buy any more books because I have enough to color every day for the rest of my life, but I really like this one. I love the hard covers too. Great review!

OMG. I think we all do! I keep saying NO more books! And then I get more..lol

I have been reading toddler books to my grandkids all morning so imagine my surprise when I got to watch this great review to this fantastic looking book! This book looks different than any other book. How fun. I live in USA so I will be patient.

Hi Claire, you've done a thorough review of each and every page, thank you! When I sant a review of a book I go to you! Yku wind up doll colored picture is smashing!! You did a Fantastic job! I have seen flips of every Karlzon book over and over. I noticed, each woman has a magical power, an animal flora or fauna element that they either control and have a magical totem like connection with. Even in masquerage look closely, they have been in Hanna's other coloring books. The full body portrait ones are easier to find in her other books, as well as the pierced ones,depending on where they are pierced. Starting with a new smaller book & publisher, but from what I have seen, the characters from all her coloring books are still going to be all in the family. Whether they continue to perform magic is yet to be seen. Id love to see more storylike coloring books like this, too. Its as though she introduced every character in all of her first books, and now, maybe with a new beginning, with a new publisher, she will stadt weaving some tales needing to be told. I reall, really hope so and am very exhited at the possibilities!

I believe Hanna said on her FB that with the new publisher she's starting a whole new series of "Tales from...", all in the same size and amount of pages.

Hi Claire, you're the Queen for doing very detailled reviews, i've seen the Beautiful Book from Hannah Karlzon from another channel and i was not Amaze & excited to get my Pre-ordered copy has i am with your review, love the way you do yours because you are expressive and love your fantastic pleasures to describe these scenes so Big Thank's i really enjoy to watch your fantastic review and can't wait to get my copy to August, yes i have to wait because they don't ship to Canada so i will have to be very patient LOL!

Well forget that idea. I was thinking of canceling my pre-order with Amazon US and ordering the Swedish version from Bokus, BUT.... that won't be happening! Thank you for the flip through. It's a wonderful book. I got the Dutch version Middernacht Maskerade this week. In this version most of the pages have blank backsides. Not bad .. so no motif can be ruined by bleeding colours. But unfortunately the finale side is missing and the side with the little fairy and lanterns is double.

pre ordered the English version today. Could not order the Swedish version, i do not have a creditcard. It looks amazing. Was planning on asking the Dutch version for my birthday, but that is not happening.

Wow I love it! All the cats are adorable. I can't wait to get it. Your cocktails look way better than anyone I have ever had, but how have you never had one?!

Hi Claire, it’s available on Amazon and will be released in the US on August 18. That’s my birthday, so I’ve already preordered it. I really laughed when you said the costumes reminded you of The Wicker Man, I’ve thought that about some costumes, too! That’s actually one of my favorite films. I remember my dad watching and saying it’s not a horror film, really, it’s a musical! It’s such a classic and definitely checks many boxes.

I've added this book to my wish list! It will be my first Hanna Karlzon book looking forward to it. I love the amount of white space in this book. It would be a nice change from the more detailed inky and world works I've been doing. With the change of publisher what's the quality of the pages?

Excellent review Claire!! When I saw the other version of Hannah Karlzon’s new book, I was beyond disappointed, I was almost mad, but then almost immediately I heard HK was severely disappointed herself, then I felt so badly for her. I love this version, and I almost love every page, but that’s reaching to ask someone to love every page, lol...oh and her women, they keep getting more and more beautiful with each new book! The page you colored, gorgeous as always with your work! Btw, Claire do you think the US edition will be like this one? I definitely won’t preorder until I see a flip thru. Thank Claire, for giving me hope back, lol.

I think the US edition is the same publisher as always, Gibbs Smith, so if you have previous US editions you'll know what to expect x

Yes. They call it land of the midnight sun. Parts of Sweden, Norway, Alaska (US) and a few other countries all near the Arctic Circle.

Lovely video, I didn't think I wanted this book until I watched your video, you make them so interesting! May I ask, what did you use to color this picture, pencils or markers?

I love her illustrations, but for some reason I've never been into colouring them. I do enjoy looking at them in video's, though. That's so weird that the Dutch publisher did that. What is up with that?

No idea. Sometimes publishers change some features of the book like paper stock, but they shouldn't have messed up the page order.

This book is to me more a children story. It is too wimsy. But I will buy it also. Here I can practise for the others.

It’s so sad about the Dutch edition. But I heard and saw a Dutch edition that was the same as this. Do you know for sure if the Dutch editors reprinted correctly? Would love to know as the paper in Dutch editions is apparently fantastic

I received my UK version today. After 2 I go all out with lots of bright colours and metallic and sticklers. There are, at least, quite a few of her trademark ladies which I enjoy. I don’t think she has done herself any favours by changing publishers and reducing the number of illustrations and consequently pages. Put on the shelf with her other books it looks a bit “forlorn “ and less important somehow. If she wanted to reduce the number of illustrations it would have been better printed one-sided so that the thickness of the book would remain the same. But then, what do I know?! You can never please everyone but I do think that a smaller book was a mistake.

Something went wrong with my other comment. I was deleting it and must have pressed the send arrow by mistake and what has been left doesn’t make proper sense. I changed my mind about leaving my comments as I think they were unnecessarily negative. Sorry!

I just don't like it!!

It would be nice if she PDF copies of her books or sold a huge volume one of each book with single sided images. I would pay more money for that!

The introduction should be not done Every person reviewing this and other coloring books all go through the size etc. We don't need that info over and over

Did you ever think that maybe everyone hasn’t watched multiple reviews before watching this one? This was the first one I watched and I appreciated the intro. You can just fast forward past it. This is KZread, not cable TV
