The anomaly with the inputs and outputs allows us to make a few guesses about the circuitry inside. The benefit is almost no added distortion in the signal path. It sounds like it has a group of 1:1 transformers on the signal path between the inputs and outputs. Then it is most likely simply combined to create a mono sum. Then possibly into a small amplification stage before or after the pot labeled sensitivity. From there probably on to a A-D converter and then logic unit on its way to the display. This makes it where it doesn't distort your signal, yet keeps the price down.
@nazcaplain3 жыл бұрын
Mine arrived a couple weeks ago - and by golly it's the bee's knees! One of the very best audio purchases I've *ever* made. Note: there's a protective film on the display that's really hard to notice. Peel it off and it's even better.

I once had a Kawai GMega. You may or may not know this already (probably do), but it's a bit more than just a General MIDI module. It's possible to program patches based on the built-in rompler tones and filter params. There was a big archive of patches floating on Yahoo! Groups back in the day, and some of them actually sound really decent.

You need a floppy midi player device to pump MIDI tracks into this rig! Failing that, I wonder if you can get a Pi/Arduino device that can play from USB or microSD... anyway, food for thought!

@@mach1beatsOFFICIAL Thomann have them back in stock now (albeit having jacked up the price considerably !) As a seventies kid who grew up in the eighties this makes me happy in ways I don't really understand :D
Love the fact that cool crab made an appearance
I'm so glad you got something better than that...thing. Now THAT is LEGIT!
LGR always gets the coolest shit man, amazing.

Of course it's the same on the 05R/W and the later X5DR. Interestingly Rick Wakeman still had a X5DR in his rack but his racks were stolen last year so I assume it's gone.
I asked about your RB store on Reddit so will check out your Cafepress store, thanks for the heads up.
You should show the process of filming your videos. Pretty cool really... keep up sir!
Protip: velcro straps instead of zip-ties. They are popular in data centers too. They look better and avoid crunching hard plastic into cables. Looks awesome!

Yeah I need to get some more of those, I've always reserved them for my main synth setup.
Reminds me of my Green LED Alpine car radio cassette tape deck from 1980’s. Very nice.
That's so frickin cool man. Is it weird that I got excited for you when I saw the thumbnail? Maybe it's because I'm a fellow "look the lights are moving to the music and that's kinda cool"-person.
That really is a nice analyser. I'd personally swap it with the pile'o'dials above but I don't recall from the original rack vid if there was some fitment issue with that anyway. I'm sure I recall something not fitting at the bottom.
Ha. I ordered one right after the techmoan episode too. It was backordered so I just got a couple of weeks ago and I love it. Flippin ‘eck I hope thomann is giving Technoan a commission intit!

The rack is back. And this time it's ... personal!
Now THAT is the one it needed
When I watched the Techmoan video I knew you'd end up picking this up too :)
I love this channel.
I’d really want to get one for my HiFi setup! I mean, the spectrum analyzer, I just see how AWEsome it is!
0:20 That ghost from Futurama is haunting your house!
As soon as I saw this on TechMoan I knew LGR was gonna pick one up for exactly this! It kinda had to happen.
Looks great!
WANT! Don't have a stereo to use it, need one now so I can have this. In white would be nicer but ooh that display is going to look gorgeous at night.
that MIDI demo sounded like a 80's public access TV show intro song.
That thing is swanky! I liked seeing in Techmoan's video where I can see frequencies being tested. Might be cool for visually testing types of cassettes and there responses

Always wondered :" why does LGR not use this awesome VU meter in His Midi Rack ?" Now, he has actally got IT. And it was sold for months out after techmoan featured it... Looks great even in ja Hifi Rack 😄

@@holleholl3057 Yeah I would love one for home, but don't have the room haha
Would love to see you cover the ' TC Electronic Clarity Loudness Meter ' spectrum analyzer
That looks way better and much more professional than the other piece of crap.
I like the SSL-style knobs.
Happy weekend!
That's some fast screwin'.
Very cool. Would it be possible to find a larger rackmount box and put in a couple of small studio monitors? Then you'd have a self-contained MIDI BOOMBOX
You had a small shout out in the latest RMC unboxing video, specifically your MIDI mountain as Neil unboxed a MIDI device.
Oh you didn't peel the protective film. That's always so satisfying.
OMG, as soon as that text came on the screen that happened outside near me!!! I was like, wtf? was that a truck outside? I had to play it back.
That's so satisfying!
I just thought to myself, hey that analyser reminds me of the one in the Sound Blaster multimedia stack system thing; remember that cool piece of software? Back in the day all cards had these multimedia centre software apps, but the Creative one was always by far the best. Anyway, it then hit me... You need a floppy midi player device to pump MIDI tracks into this rig! Failing that, I wonder if you can get a Pi/Arduino device that can play from USB or microSD... anyway, food for thought!
4:41 the part where Clint talks about Redbubble taking down his *ENTIRE* storefront
Haha after hearing how you were disappointed about the crappy one and that techmoan reviewed too and when I saw techmoan do this one I figured you would not be too far behind.
Nice he found one 👍
LGR: Hi Windows 98. PC: Hi Clint.
I just got one to but it's a double one don't know how to hook it up though I have a crapy rockville receiver and it doesn't have the right inputs for a equalizer so I'm only going to be for looks till I can figure out what I need I definitely need a amplifier one that's got endless power and will work with my new equalizer any info would help me thanks great video love that midi mountain
Hello here the original in blue, today it arrived, very fast shipping from Baiyun China, greetings from Radio 24/7 Chile.
That's pretty cool.
Cool Vibes Man :-)
If you could find a newer early 90s IBM rake mounted industrial pc you could integrate it into a Midi mountain.
I am far from an audiophile, but even I was amazed at what a POS that previous equalizer was.
It’s a suggestive MIDI.
where did you purchase from , can you provide a link? for the rta. Thanks, great video!
I'm so bummed that this isn't available anymore!! I'm dying to get my hands on one!!

Awesome I love that

I wonder what a Spectrum game would look like through a spectrum analyzer?
Thomann is the biggest online music shop and the place to go here in Germany. Pretty neat device
