Midget 15' (same as Lynaes 14' or Nordica 16') 'Kleinkapitalist' in rough circumstances
The 'Kleinkapitalist' sailing during the Netherlands Midget-week 2017 on IJsselmeer from Edam to Enkhuizen. The Netherlands Midget club (www.midgetclub.nl) organizes each year a sailing cruise for Midget sailing Yachts of different sizes. In 2017 the cruise was from Zaandam to Enkhuizen. This year some days we had a lot of wind. The video was made when there was a Beaufort 6+ wind from the South. It is remarkable how a boat of only 4.80 meter with a displacement of 500 kilogram copes with these weather circumstances. The video was made by Ineke van den Broek, who sails the Midget 26' 'Zeepaard'.

There aren't many 15 foot 'serious' boats but this little beauty qualifies.
I loved watching this move through the waves-seems like I could have continued watching for much longer. It seems so at home in the water and the waves. There is one for sale near me, so I am trying to find out what I can about them.
It was designed 200 years ago to be able to handle hard weather. Built from wood then.
In next Year my Midget will be there! Promised!
Great little boats, I have the Nordica built in Canada, purchased from Florida and now it's with me in Ga, Lake Sidney. Love the shape and you don't feel them much when you are towing them around.!! I have not had the chance to sail it yet but looking forwards to going out when all the others are coming in because of the Treacherous Winds.

I saw some pictures, Lake Sidney seems a beautiful place to sail a Nordica. And yes, she can handle a whole lot of wind.

It is, they held the Olympics here 20+ yrs ago. It's supported by a Dam. So many pines you'd never know I live not more than a mile away. ... Hopefully I'll get a chance to get wet this fall.

We bought the boat 40 years ago for our children. De dodger came with it (I only had the windows renewed two years ago) as well as these sails.

Ill take an old design over the new stuff any day. Could probably cross the Atlantic in that thing if it could carry enough gear.
