Watching them try to trip each other up was one of my favourite parts about these specials, as well as them forgetting the characters and trying to figure out who is playing whom. I was a bit skeptical before watching but it's one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time! I hope they do some more episodes at some point

As a pretty avid fan of theatre and improv, just a quick shout out to whoever directed the filming of this special. There are VERY few well filmed stage shows and this is excellent. Perfect coverage of the show and great sound mixing between audience and actor.

Ryan Kaiserman I was amazed about the production quality too. And it’s not like they could film 3 of the same shows and cut them together, it’s a one night deal!

@@makr2092 There's lots of good UCB improv sets on youtube. The most similar to M&S I can think of is probably The Brothers Hines, but there are tons of good UCB troupes from the last decade or so that have great youtube shows.

Here's hoping this did well and Netflix already ordered a new Season of The Earliest Show

The earliest show was pretty much done. It ran its course there’s no real reason to continue it other than just wanting as much money as possible

​@@PhilDubs How are you still confused? There are multiple cameras filming both actors, so "the people filming this" were always focused on BOTH Ben and Thomas at all times.

This is actually what the AP foreign language exams were like this year loll

to say this improv special as kept me sane the last month or so is an understatement

Netflix HAS to let them do these til the end of time

you can have a little live shows again as a treat after you continue to wear a face mask, stay at least 6ft away from people, wash your hands, and wait for people that don't to finish dying off.

Ok seeing this clip, cracking up, then seeing that the whole thing is on Netflix has made my week. I'm 15 minutes in and I've had to stop twice to catch my breath from laughing.

Forever grateful I got to see these guys perform in January. They were incredible - I wish the show was so much longer. I hadn't laughed that hard in so long. Can't wait to see them again assuming they go on tour again in the future

This episode is by far the funniest, it's almost hard to believe it's all improv, so many call backs and well thought out bits it's insane. BRAVO!

Thomas Middleditch and Ben Schwartz are awesome

I've seen the special like 4 or 5 times and I could watch it 20 times more. Hopefully you guys will be able to get more shows recorded! Knew about it on the grumps episode btw. Thanks for all the laughs!

Do you mean later when Tom said Timothee the third would be too real? It was because he said before he almost named him Forne Bichaels or something (like Lorne Michaels of SNL) and he was afraid they were getting too close to the real guy. 😂 I guess that’s what he meant and this is my favourite bit

Not really. I always laugh more when its live. But this shit had me laughing hard even though its not live. So I can only imagine how funny it was live.

Middleditch is pretty awful at this - constantly just makes Ben carry the routine "rEaD tHe FiRsT qUeStIoN" "yOu HaVe 15 sEcOnDs tO rEsPoNd" Such low effort lines - would love to see Ben do this with someone more creative

Thomas carried the whole first episode for the most part, they both shine in the second one and Ben is better in the final show.

In improv, you have two roles: the star, and the workhorse. The workhorse is the one that sets up the jokes, for the star to be able to bounce off of and hit the home runs. If you have two stars in one scene (like you're asking for) then they compete with each other, and it gets messy and uncoordinated. Middleditch knows the assignment here, he's the one setting up Schwartz for the punchlines. They work insanely well together.
