Middle Tennessee Folk Music With Jim Wood

Музыка

An in-depth look at folk music traditions in Middle Tennessee featuring Tennessee fiddle legend Jim Wood, who holds fifteen state championship titles on fiddle and mandolin and was honored by Governor Ned Ray McWherter for his work in preserving Tennessee’s music traditions.
Starting at age ten, Jim began playing the old-time music of his hometown of Fairview, Tennessee where his father, championship guitarist Jimmy Wood, was heavily involved in the local grassroots musical scene. Jim went on to spend decades in the Nashville studio and live scene working with numerous celebrity musicians as well as performing in venues around the world.
Passing on his musical heritage has always been important to Jim, and he first began teaching at age seventeen with thirty-eight of his students having won national and/or state championships. He has been featured in numerous instructional books, CDs, and videos, and he is a regular columnist in Fiddler Magazine.
Jim owns and operates Tennessee Studios, a professional recording and video studio that focuses on acoustic and roots music projects. He recently started the Jim Wood Online Acoustic Music Academy (www.jimwoodmusic.net) to continue the rich tradition of passing down lessons learned from a lifetime of teachers, mentors, and friends.
Jim Wood wishes to thank the following people for their inspiration and friendship:
