I'm an Australian, private school educated solicitor who works in melbourne's outer western suburbs defending primarily young ethnic groups. I also drive a modified Japanese imported V8 which me and my dad have a passion for - I save my hooning for the drags or track days where it is legal - only now that I can afford it!

@TomoSLB The jet fuel I think he was refering to was probably a misunderstanding of Nitrous Oxide which is pretty common on high end cars. I know a number of street cars that have Nitrous. Funnily enough about the rear breaks on a XR6 Turbo my mate owned a few years ago he use to take the rear calipers off and ziptie them to the body so he could have his foot flat to the floor on both the brakes and accelerator man he could do some massive skids. I'm sure it isn't common but it does happen.

When I do get pulled over, the interaction with the police is often pleasant as they recognise I'm somewhat articulate and co-operative with them (and white and conservative) coupled wiht the fact I deal with them every day in court and I guess they have their own ego's. Yes there are idiots out there, but head out to the country and there are plenty of Aussie bogans in their V8 Utes doing burnouts and causing danger on major highways.

I often just feel sorry for the young guys who come in after spending a fortune on their 'dubs' and 'stereo' and exhaust to jsut be defected. It is not stupidity it is youth and ignorance. I'm 25 now, but in hindsight I was a bit of a dickhead myself about 18/19 years of age.
