Your plot is a little patch of paradise

Thank you. It may sound daft but the comments do mean an awful lot. 👍 cheers.
really like the style of plot you've made with food and life everywhere, I remember when I first started allotment nearly 20 years ago now so many plots were all just spuds, onions and beans, a few sweet peas and dahlias if you were lucky much more variety now, and much more thought to pollinators and other wildlife you're on the right side of progress don't let the fossils get you down

You're very welcome. It's been an issue on this site for years I fear it's now more personal than principaled, but I attended several meetings at the local council & it appears to be improving now. Fingers crossed.
It’s one of the most diverse and productive plots Much like my family’s plot was in London

lol you say ashes I think oooo potash
Thanks for sharing. We had a discussion about this at a AGM for the allotment recently. The proposed rule was 75% cultivation but a few of us argued about the number and definition of 'cultivation'. For many on the plot it's a place for mental health wellbeing as much as food production. For me on my 100m^2 plot, once you factor in paths, a shed, and compost bays it already eats into the 75%. We agreed a number isn't the main factor, rather it's that the plot is being worked and maintained. Hopefully your committee see sense in what you are doing on your plot.

Sad some people are so stuck in the mud about some rules.
I can understand why some traditional allotment growers would consider your plot uncultivated. They would not see nettles as a positive etc. You just have to argue your case of what cultivated means in your context. Perhaps provide evidence of a food forest as a growing style would help.

This is deeper than that. I'm now getting abelist abuse in the comments etc. It's been going on years, they are only concerned now because I reported thier continued rule breaking & made it public.

I agree, it's not been easy at sll this year.
Hya, i can see why the council feels its uncultivated. You obviously dont agree and are hopefully going to argue a case for your style and interpretation of what classes as cultivated. Although i cant agree with your arguement and pointing at other rule breakers as an excuse is rather weak. Saying that i hope you succeed as you are a gardener and enjoy what you do.
Are you a climate change activist

What's your definition of an activist? Do I believe we need to start taking climate change seriously? Then yes, I do. Why?
